Birgit our host and server was very welcoming and good enough to join us in English. She definitely made us feel like guests at her home.

Double Beef Soup had a great beef broth with a few carrot slices and turnip slivers cooked to just a slight crisp. And then veal meat balls. I’m not normally a fan of veal, but it really worked in this soup.

“Venison Saddle”. Not sure what part of a deer the “Saddle” is, but I decided if I had the chance to eat European wild game that I had to try. Second choice was “Boiled Fattened Ox” because boiling isn’t my favorite preparation method, but hey Ox!

Beef Stroganoff and egg spaetzle (German / Austrian egg noodle). Not the flat smooth egg noodle I was expecting, but very good and hearty mouthfeel with the sauce. And the meat was melt in your mouth tender.

Baked Apple Fritter with Cinnamon and Vanilla ice cream. This was not like any apple fritter you have ever had. It said baked, but seemed more like apple rings battered and deep fried and then rolled in sugar because it just didnt have enough calorie density.

Then add fruit puree that I think I could drink until I exploded. And the best large strawberry I ever remember eating.

Chocolate Bailey’s Mouse was beautifully smooth and chocolatey. And again wonderful fruit puree.

I will definitely be back when I...

A solid tradition restaurant with lovely details of their decorations - nice flowers on the table. We tried the special autumn seasonal dish, which was the goose with red cabbage. I founnd the meat was chewy. Taste wise it wasn't bad, a little too sweet for my taste. For the food quality, I found the price is far to high. 36€ for the goose dish would be ok, if the meat is properly done soft. However, all in all, it's a good restaurant. Check the price before ordering and definitely...

Overall a cosy restaurant run by a family, which gives a certain charme. The service was friendly and quick, although many guests where visiting. The only criticism is that the food quality does not reach the asking price. The food was overall tasty, but it did not reach the expected quality I have when dining in this price range. In my humble opinion, 25% lower prices would be a more realistic value...
