Magma — Restaurant in Stadt Feldkirch

Superb little restaurant. My wife and I stopped by for lunch while in Feldkirche, Austria. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and menus provided. The server and owner were both very helpful with answering any questions. My wife had the smoked salmon poke bowl, which was loaded with salmon, fruits, vegetables, all over black rice. Simply, incredible and very flavorful. With every bite was a different flavor and/or texture. I had the lunch special, which was goulash with mashed potatoes and a side salad. This was probably the best goulash that I have had in 25-30 years. The mash potatoes were very creamy and full of flavor. The started salad was crisp and refreshing. We chose Magma because of the reviews on our way back from Switzerland and none of us understands where such good rating comes from. The welcome from the staff was very cold, then we waited very long to be able to order. The food was ok, but all the rest was weird and we didn’t feel comfortable. When leaving, there were still plates and mugs on the other tables, even though the customers left like 15-30 mins before we did and there was a fork lying in the middle of the restaurant right where the staff was walking. The food was okay, not great, though. I got the seitan poke bowl and half the bowl was very coarsely cut cabbage, very little rice and very little of everything else. I was not really satisfied by my meal at all especially for 15 euro for a bowl. The service was fine, though we had to wait a while and our food came at quite different speeds.
