We walked into Bäckerei Öfferl with high expectations—friends had praised the quality, and to be fair, the bread and pastries are excellent. On our first visit, the staff were warm and friendly. The second time, not at all. Later, friends familiar with the bakery shared troubling reports: that staff have been fired simply for being unwell, and that tips meant for employees are allegedly kept by the business. If true, these are deeply unethical practices. We find it upsetting to pay a €32 premium for breakfast bread items, thinking we’re supporting a high-quality bakery, only to learn that the business may be profiting while mistreating its staff. That’s unacceptable. We won’t return to Bäckerei Öfferl, and we encourage others to reconsider too. Good bread doesn’t justify bad ethics.

This has been my favorite bakery in Vienna for the past two years. It’s a chain with a number of locations around the city. It starts with the amazing sourdough bread but the pastries are great as well. They have apricot and raspberry krapfen (jelly doughnuts). And the topfengolatsche is delicious. They also offer excellent organic milk and butter and, on occasion, raw milk. This is rare but great if you’re into making your own cheese like I do sometimes. Definitely worth heading to Öfferl !!

Öfferl is truly an amazing bakery — everything looks and tastes top-quality, from the bread to the pastries. You can tell they care about ingredients and craftsmanship. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. That said, I did find the prices a bit on the expensive side, especially for everyday items. Still, it's a great spot for a treat or special visit!

Welcome to the bakery Öfferl! One of Austrias high end bakery companies. Theit shops are designed in a very minimal but cosy stile. You can feel the home- and handmade tradition this family owned establishment brings to the bread table. They got a broad but distinct variety of products. Their breakfast is very good to. The way they serve their breakfast breads reminds on sculptural art work. The ingredients beside the bakery products are fresh an well arranged. Further they've got a great selection of the aways. The...
