After arrival to the hotel we were told we can have a coffee from the coffee machine in the early morning before heading to the airport (that meant we were going to miss breakfast that was included). When we came downstairs to check out, and asked if we can have a morning coffee, we were told by a different receptionist that we are not allowed and that owner has forbidden to let anybody have a morning cup of coffee or tea before breakfast time. I wish I could say this was the end… we then handed in the keys to check out but we were told we have to wait for the system to double check everything is in order, in the meantime we got yelled at by our taxi driver for a long waiting time (after waiting about 15 minutes for the system to check us out) the gentleman at the reception also said we didn’t pay the full amount even though we showed him an email confirmation that the total amount was paid at the time of booking. We were also asked to show him how much we paid! At this point the taxi driver was ready to leave us there so we just left the keys with the receptionist and told him we know we have everything in the right order and we can no longer wait…very disappointing service and unpleasant start to...
Read moreWhen booking, we specifically wanted a room with terrace so we were delighted to find this hotel offering a superior king room with patio. The word patio was included on the booking confirmation. Upon arrival, we discovered that our room did not have the patio. Querying this at reception, we were told that someone else had booked it so there was nothing that he could do. His flippant attitude was astonishing! After a really bad night’s sleep with one very flimsy pillow, I asked again about the patio room. The man was very polite and said that he would be able to sort something within a few minutes. When I returned, I was told by his female colleague that we had been upgraded to a business room anyway and that terrace rooms were not really terraces , just windows. The room is very clean but has nothing that you would expect from a business room. No desk, kettle, additional complimentary toiletries and the bath towels are flimsy and small. We arrived 2 hours prior to our check-in time and wanted to leave our luggage in hold, but were notified that the room was already waiting for us! We also got a free room upgrade to a room about twice the size of the standard room, which was definitely a plus. The AC was working super well, while it was 35 degrees celsius outside, the room stayed a crisp 22 degrees. |The breakfast was varied and had plenty to choose from.|H-hotels now also offers a "go green" option, where the guest can forgo the daily room service, which we opted for as we stayed only 2 nights. We got 2 vouchers as a reward, sadly there was no lobby bar, which i understand has stayed closed since end of COVID-19 restrictions.
