Unexpectedly for Italian restaurant the food tasted very bad. The quality of the ingredients used is really poor.

The puttanesca had none sauteed anchovies in the sause but just one very dry small fish on top. The sause had no aroma, nothing in common with how the puttanesca should taste. The tagliatelle tasted like cardboard and definitely far from aldente. The dish felt like the cheapest pasta with cheap store bought ready sause.

I didn't personally try the carbonara but it visibly didn't have guancale but some sort of bacon and on the menu is stated that the carbonara is by the original recipe.

The salad came in big chunks, almost impossible to eat properly.

Good thing is that they served some hard cheese (though it had no aroma and strong flavour as any Italian cheese) so we were able a bit to accommodate the taste as we were really hungry and it would have been a pity to return a plate.

The service is good and fast. Friendly waitresses that found us a table and helped with anything needed. Though one of them picked up the almost half full salad plate without asking if it's finished, but that's okay in this case as it was not the enjoyable meal you want to finish.

Nice Italian restaurant with some unique options that you don't find often in other menus and excellent home-made pasta. If it is busy the waiting times can be a bit challenging especially when sitting outside. The inside of the restaurant is in rustic style with candles and wine bottles and very old school. The outside seating area can be really nice on hot summer days. I would not recommend sitting in the glass cubes outside. The menu prices are a bit on the expensive side. Das Positive zuerst: Die Pizza aus dem Holzofen ist sehr gut und sehr italienisch. Leider folgt der Rest auch italienischen Standards. Der zu kurz geratene (und irgendwie immer unfreundlich wirkende) Patrone (=Besitzer) findet scheinbar, dass Italiener sein schon super gut genug ist. Ich konnte dem allerdings bislang nichts abgewinnen.

Das Personal & Service ist dementsprechend inkompetent, wenig zuvorkommend, nicht gastfreundlich und insgesamt sehr unkoordiniert. Konkret bedeutet dies: Meine Familie hätte gerne einen Tisch gehabt, aber alle freien Plätze waren wie üblich mit (Fake-)Reservierungen markiert. Ein Kellner hat uns nur mit Kopfnicken angedeutet, dass wir irgendwo Platz nehmen sollen. Keine Begrüßung, kein Willkommen, keine Platzzuweisung! Nach 15 Minuten - wir wollten schon gehen - bekamen wir die Speisenkarten. Kommentarlos. Dass wir nach weiteren 15 Minuten erst die Getränke bestellen "durften" hat nicht mehr weiter verwundert. Der Bezahlvorgang hat sich ebenso endlos in die Länge gezogen. Natürlich erhält man nur gegen Aufforderung (nach weiteren 15 Minuten) eine "richtige" Rechnung mit Mehrwertsteuerausweisung, wahrscheinlich weil die Buchhaltung steuerschonend nach italienischen Maßstäben geführt werden dürfte.

Das Peinlichste am Rande: Wenn wir nicht für unsere Kinder eine Wasserflasche mit dabei gehabt hätten, wären diese praktisch verdurstet. Es war nicht möglich weitere Getränke zu bestellen, auf die Zusatzbestellung wurde schlichtweg vergessen!

Bestellungen am Telefon werden übrigens eher falsch aufgenommen. Dafür kann man sich dann mit dem schlecht deutsch sprechenden Personal (sind ja alles originale Italiener) streiten, weil schuld ist nach deren Philosophie immer der Kunde!
