I’ll start with the bad. I asked the owner if their dishes were vegan-friendly. Twice, she assured me that most were vegetarian, with meat added only as an option. Yet when we arrived, the choices dwindled to vegetable soup and a few rice dishes. It was disappointing. But then came the good. Perhaps to make up for it, she started the buffet early just for us and served my friends vegetable soup at no extra charge. Small gestures, but appreciated. The buffet, at 20 euros, was worth it. Each dish carried the flavors I love—savory, umami, brothy sweetness, and even bitterness. Yes, I embrace bitterness, as an Asian. Egusi was my favorite, followed closely—unsurprisingly—by the bitter leaf soup. Yes, I’d recommend the place, but with a note of caution: Nigerian cuisine is rich in meat and fish. Hence, if you're seeking a purely plant-based meal, be prepared for some...

We had a fantastic experience at Akaraka, a Nigerian restaurant in Vienna. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with Afrobeat music playing softly in the background, creating an authentic vibe. The menu featured a great selection of traditional Nigerian dishes, from jollof rice to egusi soup and pounded yam.

We tried the oha, egusi and jollof rice, both bursting with rich flavors and perfectly spiced. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. If you’re craving authentic Nigerian food in Vienna, this spot is...

I had an amazing experience at Akaraka Home African Restaurant! The food was absolutely excellent—full of rich flavors and authentic African taste. Every dish was fresh, well-prepared, and truly delicious.

The service was just as impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. It felt like a home away from home.

If you're looking for great African cuisine with top-notch service, this is the place to go....

My colleagues and I were craving delicious African food, and this place did not disappoint! Easily one of the best African restaurants around authentic flavors and just the right amount of spice. The food is freshly made from scratch, and we had two fufu dishes: one with okra soup and the other with egusi. Absolutely delicious! We truly enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
