My partner and I received EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE at this place. So poor, I wish I could give ZERO STARS. It was recommended by our hotel, as it was conveniently located right across the street. The server which was an older gentlemen seemed to have an attitude when I ordered a small salad. (I wasn’t that hungry.) It was apparent he was upset with our small order because afterwards he never came to check on us, we had to call him over to ask for condiments. Also, there was a bigger party next to us and how convenient, he was super friendly with them. We were using the olive oil, and he came over and literally took the olive oil and put the top on even though we were still using it. Very intrusive!!! He also took the Olive oil, salt, and pepper from our table and gave it to the bigger party. Didn’t ask if it was okay or anything, just took it! We asked for bread, because what Italian spot doesn’t give bread at least? Yeah right! The lack luster waiter didn’t even inform us there was an up charge, it was a nice surprise when the bill came. Avoid this place!!! Especially, if you don’t speak German. If you decide to go anyway, keep in mind that they don’t accept credit cards. Had to get up and go to a nearby ATM, because they’re to cheap to invest in a credit...
Read moreWould have been a four but for the service. I entered and was greeted in German by a waitress, all fine I sat and looked at the menu. I had decided what I wanted and was ready to order in Italian or German. The male waiter/owner came over, took one look and took my menus away before replacing it with an English one. Excellent. Once more I was to be treated as an uneducated, ignorant fool. The food came and it wasn't bad, the bill came to 34.40 and I handed over a 50, received 15 in change... well I reduced my tip from 4 to 2 euros to compensate because as well as not expecting anyone to make the effort to pander to my Englishness I can also count. Just for once it would be nice for people to realise that some English people genuinely want to experience the country and culture they...
Read moreLively Italian atmosphere including music and heartfelt greetings and Italian welcome culture. A little outside the city center but it's worth to walk up Landstrasse Hauptstrasse to dine in this typical Italian-Viennese restaurant. It's part of Viennese culture to have Italian-style ice cream parlors (one is just across the street of Al Sarago) and Italian restaurants throughout the city. Mediterranean flair and Viennese charms give a nice cultural blend. Great Italian food, not just your typical Pizza and Pasta. Definitely a thumbs up and recommendation from me if you are on the lookout for a...
