I am here on vacation and have not been to this cafe before. I was the only customer here when I walked in and the two women working seemed annoyed that I was here. I do not speak German however I asked (in German) if they speak English. The woman who served me said in a placid tone “yes.” She did not smile at me or try to engage with me. So I placed my order. As I sat here to eat my food (which was not good and tasted stale) I observed over a dozen German speaking customers come in and be served. The two women working were smiling, laughing, and speaking to customers in a much more joyous tone. It was like they became different people right before my eyes. The staff asked customers questions and even thanked them. I received non of that same kind treatment. She declared that the 'free coffee" from their "collect 10 coffees' cards can be used only in the location where the other coffees were originally purchased. But then 'kindly agreed to do an exception'. That's a bit of a joke, given hundreds of Anker bakeries in Vienna, and given that the card works equally everywhere!
