Café Vienna — Restaurant in Vienna

Tourist Alert! This is NOT A CAFE!! Well, not the typical Viennese Cafe you are looking for! It's a small bar where local senior citizens gather for beer and smoke. If stuck in the area, and pining for coffee in a café, take the bus 11A, or UBahn U2 from Messe Prater and go to any stop towards the city. Or else the quaint McDonald's right outside the Messe Prater, or the bistro past the post office. If you don't mind a little walk then, Cafe Little Britain. But please don't go by the ancient reviews of Cafe Vienna from years ago. Don't let me say I...

Within walking distance from the Austria Wien Messe Hotel that I stayed for 2 weeks in about 2008. What a nice, informal, friendly staff and guests. I felt safe eating here almost daily as a solo, female traveler from Canada. Close to the Danube River. Warm memories and pleasant conversations. They have no problem conversing me in English. Waren mit 4 Personen dort, kannten das Lokal vorher noch nicht... Die servierten Kaffee etc. waren durchschnittlich, das Personal war relativ frecht und gegenüber unserer älteren Begleitung relativ abwertend.. Ebenfalls ist aufgefallen, dass von der Toilette ein sehr unangenehmer Geruch kam, so als ob sie nicht ordentlich gereinigt wurde

Das Lokal an sich kann man sich wie ein langer enger Gang vorstellen, die Dekoration ist nicht angemessen und das dort verkehrende Publikum war aus meiner Perspektive sehr suboptimal.. Relativ aggressiv wirkende Wiener mit einem Hang zu sehr unangenehmen Gesprächsthemen- hat man zumindest mitgehört, da die so laut geredet haben.

Alles in allem nicht zu empfehlen, gibt aber in unmittelbarer Nähe noch sehr gute Restaurants, geht's einfach nur in das...
