After visiting a dozen of times their coffeeshop in Mariahilf, today's was the time to try their brunch filial.
Sitting in such calm exterior terrace was as pleasant as it gets, so the vibe was starting to settle for a great breakfast. The counter was full of their usual pastries and cakes, and looked lush.
The service was kind and accomodating as hell (maybe as heaven fits better here?). Seriously, they made me feel stepping into a five stars hotel breakfast but without the formal mood, just chilling and feeling in Gold Coast or so.
I tried their interesting "aerocano" which provides an airy americano kind of coffee. I was offered to have it with the just opened beans of the weekly special flat white. The result was a coconut flavour drink that I can't compare with any other I had, and definitely enjoyed it.
As for food, I tried one of their seasonal specials: 2 eggs benedict in a huge sourdough toast, with salted mushrooms, spinach, goat cheese and parmesan, with a fresh salad on the side. Apart from the parmesan maybe being too scarce, the toast was pretty good, different, healthy and satiating. It took me long to finish it, and felt fantastic: not greasy, not salty, everything well mixed.
During my time there, I was refilled tap water continuously, which felt amazing after a hot morning run.
What can I say? I could make a routine out of this. No pictures since I was coming from a run without smartphone. But that's better, you will enjoy it...
Read moreWent for the second time as it’s close to where we live and we had a good first visit. Only blended coffees were available on an espresso- this being a specialty coffee spot it seemed normal to ask for a single origin. They kindly said they’ll make an exception if i take a double espresso (although all specialty spots in Vienna normally feature a single origin on regular offer- so i wasn’t asking for something out of the ordinary, really). All good, coffee was nice. Together with a regular cappuccino, i got charged 11,30€. Cap was 4,40, which leaves us at 6,90 for a double espresso. Advertised price was 4,50 for a double. At no point was i warned that this would cost me more than 50% in addition to the advertised price (this being an “exception”, i guess). 6,90 for a double espresso is more than this would cost in Brooklyn, let alone a gentrifying, not central neighbourhood in Vienna. I work in the f&b industry too and i know times are tight- but they’re not this tight, sorry. (In a reply to my comment, the shop claims that all pricing is indicated. The price i paid was...
Read moreI am delighted by the fantastic coffee, the creative dishes and tasty breakfast The Good Coffee Society offers. We were treated by the staff extremely friendly and professional. The location fits perfectly in the green streets of the historically important Stuwerviertel where elegant Wilhelminian style houses from the late 19th century line up next to each other. Near you can find the Wiener Prater and the ornate St. Francis of Assisi Church that dates from the early 20th century. It is built in the style of a basilica and includes a memorial chapel for the Habsburg Empress Elisabeth. I can really recommend the Good Coffee Society a place you don’t want to miss. Also try the fluffy self...
