This is by far one of the most impressive cafés I’ve ever been to - It’s like going back in time, not only into a nicer and more beautiful Vienna, but a much classier time period in Europe. I recommend learning more about this cafés history, it’s owners, and the overall time period of Vienna and Austria beforehand (or whilst visiting) and really soaking in the atmosphere. Much of the decor unchanged, which is insane to think about and such a beautiful statement by the owners - you can tell they’re passionate about keeping the Viennese Café culture alive, which is something I can only hope will never ever end. It’s in the small details: A selection of actual newspapers on wooden racks (yes, they still exist), a waiter dressed in proper, classy attire (with a traditional Viennese arrogance about him - not meant in a negative way at all), and a ton of history and beautiful architecture right outside, which is to be enjoyed looking out of the window with a traditional “Verlängerter“, „Großer Brauner“, or „Melange“. The coffee I had was great - I paired it with a price of cake that was recommended to me by the waiter, which was simple and tasty. No attempts to be overly posh or fancy here, but rather a clear sense of traditional and local culture. I’m case you hadn’t been able to tell from the prior sentences of this review: I highly recommend this café and will make it a must-visit place whenever I’ll be in Vienna!

A lovely cafe that makes you feel like you stepped back in time, we enjoyed an incredible breakfast here. We loved their coffee and cake options, opting for a Viennese melange and their große schale gold plus a linzer torte and gugelhupf. Their Viennese breakfast options were delightful and I went for a simple omelette which was fluffy and more delicious than I could have hoped for! We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and warmth for quite a while. This would be an amazing place to enjoy more often for long conversations with friends or for some great cake with coffee while reading the newspaper and people-watching. I highly recommend this lovely coffee house!

Viennese old old Café! More than 100 years old! I think this is a nice spot of Vienna to bring the guest from abroad. On the other hand, those who knows Vienna also can enjoy here very much! Who wants to challenge the Speck Brot with a lot of fresh horseradish (white wasabi)? It was so freshly grated that I couldn’t keep my eyes open, even my tears came out😂😂😂. I mean it was really really delicious! I will go there for this next time. Aaaaand don’t forget about great cakes. It’s so hard to decide one piece of cake because all of them look super delicious 🤩 That means you have to come here very often to try them all!

I was really looking forward to this place but unfortunately, the condescending and rude attitude of the servers really ruined the experience at the end. We (at least 2 people in my group) asked at the beginning, before being sat, if we could pay with credit card and the man who sat us said "yes". So we sat. There was an issue because some tables were reserved and others were not, but this man told us we could sit in one of the reserved tables for 1 hour. He didn't communicate this to the other server so another server came and raised his voice at my nieces and sister in law who were sitting down, he said "can't you see it's reserved?!" and threw the "reserved" card on the table, in a very rude way. We clarified that the first server let us sit there, and then it was OK (or so we thought) . We had our coffees and cakes, good stuff. No complaints on the food, but the server was suuuuper passive aggressive and condescending. then when it was time to pay, the first server who told us we could pay with a card, completely denied it. And then when we said hey, we had asked you about paying with a card, he just kept denying it (2 people asked IN GERMAN if we could pay with a card). And then our server said in a super condescending tone, "oh maybe it was a language barrier". Thankfully, we had cash and were able to pay. Never again, skip this place. sad, because it had a really nice vibe, but this awful service ruined...
