Café Grüner Salon — Restaurant in Vienna

Café Grüner Salon is a wonderful and charming little cafe in Vienna - I absolutely would highly recommend this cafe if you are looking for a good place for breakfast/brunch! We came here for breakfast a little while ago and received excellent service, amazing food, and best of all: everything was gluten-free! In a city where there are surprisingly not many good gluten-free options, this place is a blessing. We got a whole 2-person shareable breakfast platter alongside some cheesecake (a vegan one and a non-vegan one, forest berry and blueberry - both excellent), some juices and coffee and more. We loved everything and only wish we got more amazing things to try! We unfortunately don’t live in Vienna, as if we did, we would come here all the time. I found finding good GF food in Vienna difficult until I ate here. I was in need of a good breakfast and I was not disappointed. I had their version of avocado toast with a fried egg and salad for breakfast. It was definitely different but tasty. The juice was fresh and the coffee yum. My service was amazing! He recommended the cherry cheesecake and it was out of this world delicious.

I went back the next day for more cherry cheesecake but understandably they were out of it cause why not, it was beyond yum. I decided to take two pieces of the apricot cheesecake and while it was yum, it was no match for the cherry cheesecake. I shall dream of it until the next time...

Right around the corner of Gumpendorferstrasse and just a short walk off of popular shopping street Mariahilferstrasse you can find this little gem of a Coffee spot with the flair of an old traditional Viennese Kaffehaus! It feels like traveling back in time.☺️Very beautiful and thoughtful interior with a vast selection of amazing, high quality homemade, vegan, and 100% glutenfree breakfast / desserts as well as delicious coffee and tea.
