Cocore — Restaurant in Vienna

I don’t even know where to begin. This place was, without exaggeration, one of the most disgraceful dining experiences I’ve ever had — and I’ve traveled extensively across Europe.

We arrived at the café and were immediately met with rudeness: a member of the staff threw the menus onto our table without a word. But what happened next was absolutely surreal — the entire staff then proceeded to sit down at a nearby table and started casually eating their own lunch, completely ignoring the guests.

We weren’t the only ones left waiting. Other tables also sat in disbelief, hoping someone would eventually get up and take their order. We made eye contact with the staff several times — they saw us, mid-bite, and still did absolutely nothing. The blatant disregard for basic hospitality was staggering.

In all my years of traveling and dining across Europe, I have never encountered such an unprofessional, disrespectful attitude from a restaurant. This place is an embarrassment and should be avoided...

This place is appalling! Do NOT go there! I really rarely write bad reviews, but this kind of service I really didn't expect is possible in Vienna! When I entered the place the hostess was playing on her phone and didn't pay me any attention. But when I proceeded to sit myself at one of the many free tables she saw me and started shouting at me. After she let me stay at the table in the end I recieved a menu from another staff member and after further 30 seconds pased she came right up to me unneedingly close to my face and stood there in an imposing manner expecting me to state my order even though I was obviously still looking at the menu. I responded that I am still not ready to proceed to which she responded in an ironically. After that consecutive display of disrespect I immediately stood up and exited...

So many questions. What on earth did I eat here? How can Italian food be this bad? And how is this place sitting at 4.4 stars? No need for a lengthy critique—just take a look at the photo of the seafood gnocchi I had. Does it resemble anything appetizing? I showed it to a friend, and they recoiled in horror.
