During my recent visit to Vienna, I wanted to enjoy some local cuisine and found this restaurant using a Google search. It was a 5 minute walk from my hotel, The Harmonie Vienna, so I headed over for a late lunch. Sat on the outdoor patio and was greeted promptly and presented with a menu with lots of options. I already knew what I had a hankering for and it was Schnitzel & Beer. Food came out promptly and the portion was huge and served with parsley potatoes and a lemon wedge. I wasn’t able to finish it all as I was saving room for a delicious dessert I’d seen in another reviewers photo. The dessert is a fried dough ball with a ricotta-consistency cream in the center dusted with powdered sugar and topped with a tart cherry compote. The waitress recommended I get 1 as the usual order has 3, and I took her suggestion and it was just the right amount. Definitely not sweet, but delicious nonetheless. Nice location for watching people go by and enjoyed the entire experience. Be sure to pay in Euros and the total, including a 10% tip,...
Read moreI am so sorry I have to change my grade from a perfect five, to two. I loved this restaurant but the way I was treated yesterday has forced me to do this. I came in the restaurant at a later hour and ask at the bar if it is ok if I sit outside to which I was given a green light and I was told to weit for the free table. In about 20 min the table was free. Highly unpleasant weiter came and told me the kitchen is open for only 20 more min. He crossed nervously almost everything from the menu and I chose a dish from the ones that were still there. Then this was also not ok. According to him since the dish was too complex. I took another dish and asked for a desert to be brought at the same time so that kitchen does not work late. He just went crazy on me and made me feel so unpleasant that there was nothing for me to do but to leave. I left the restaurant hungry and more importantly hurt and disappointed. I will not come again!!! I am sorry that such a nice place has such...
Read moreStopped by for an early dinner...most of the tables had reservations on them but the bar person sat me down with the expectation to leave by the reserved time. Not a problem since I had an hour and a half. The restaurant has the casual traditional pub feeling to it but it's not a pub. Maybe it was at some point.
I ordered a big veal schnitzel with a side salad and some potato salad. Preceded by a small bowl of red lentil soup. All delicious and filling. I asked for a strudel for dessert but surprisingly it's not on the menu so I had the apricot dumpling instead with a cappuccino ( they don't have an Americano coffee). The dumpling was ok, not my fave choice ( not really sweet, creamy or desert like ) but I wanted to try a Viennese dessert and this was recommended. My only gripe was the coffee was brought out 12-15 minutes before the dessert and should've arrived together.
With a 10% tip ( they asked for it) the total came to 45 €. They accept...
