Das Mehlspeis-Labor Café — Restaurant in Vienna

We are really happy that this place opened in the neighborhood. We went there just after the opening and the pains au chocolat were not so great, flash forward two weeks and they are excellent. Also the cappuccino is great and I love that they are open early in the morning, it makes a really good and different than usual breakfast possible also during the work week. The waiter is also really nice and friendly. Looking forward to try the pastries too. The prices are fair.

Update: we tried all the other morning pastries (but they are experimenting a lot so there are new entries there) and they are all really really well done. Also the non-breakfast pastries are delicious and delicate, really balanced....

Very nice, kid friendly Café in an urban location. The pastries and drinks were delicious, we had coffee as well as matcha and both were great. The deserts taste amazing and super fresh, but what stuck out the most were the friendly staff. So friendly and accommodating, nothing was lacking!

Since this cafe has a kids book/toy section, with toys among which have bells and make noise, I wouldn’t recommend this place to get work done or have a meeting - at least not during peak pick up time in the afternoons, since lots of families are there with their children… If you plan your visit accordingly, I can see this place being a productive and quiet space for...

Lovely, kids friendly cafe with very friendly staff! The Halloween cookie was great and the brownie was too dry. My kid was very entertained by the toy/book section! The cafe itself is in a very gentrified area of the district, with a lovely outdoor space and playground - so I’m sure it’s nice to sit outside when the weather permits!
