Are you seeking the most romantic Michelin Rated Restaurant in Vienna (Wien)?

With its indoor dining space with white tablecloths, understated elegance, cozy bar area, and fabulous covered garden patio, Geschmack Temple is one of the best restaurants and hidden secrets near downtown Vienna.

A Michelin-rated restaurant (whose owners are renowned for their gourmet restaurant in Salisianergasse), the food truly lives up to its name, “Taste Temple.” An outstanding assortment of the finest regional wines, beer, and cocktails accompany the seasonal organic dishes., cheeses, and truffle appetizers. Enjoy chilled soups as starters in the summer and hearty fare in the colder months, reflecting the finest Fusion Cuisine, Gourmet Austrian Cuisine, and Vegetarian Cuisine.

Geschmack Temple offers an exotic palate of Gourmet vegetarian food with Vegetarian Thursdays that will impress anyone. The Lunch menu from Monday-Friday is the best gourmet value in Vienna – whether you decide on the main dish or go for the 3-course lunch. The food, décor, and service are impeccable for any celebration.

If you are close to the Donau Canal (1020 Wien) and have discerning taste buds, you will enjoy an unforgettable dining experience.

The “Geschmack Temple“ Restaurant is the perfect restaurant to celebrate a romantic dinner in Vienna, a birthday party, or to book a group dining event. Our five-party had the chilled apple/melon soup for a starter and wild fish from Hallstatt, finished with one of the best coffees in 1020 Vienna. When in Vienna’s second district, or if you are close to downtown, you won’t want to miss Geschmack Tempel!

Take the U1 to Nestroyplatz and exit Rotensterngasse. Look for the sign in front of the cobblestone alley, and the restaurant is in the far left corner of the historic courtyard on Praterstrasse, a few doors away from the historic Strauss Museum where Johann Strauss wrote the most famous waltz...

Enticed by the promise of a Michelin-recommended restaurant we decided to use our one night in Vienna dining at this restaurant. The prices seemed reasonable, and the location convenient near a subway station so off we went. First off I’ll say the place is just as approachable as any restaurant and doesn’t seem to have a dress code or restrictions. The mains we tried were absolutely fantastic and well worth the somewhat dear price of 24€ for a rather modest portion. The starters however, both the soup and mushroom thing were, in my opinion, overpriced rubbish. We sorely regretted spending as much in two bad starters when we could’ve gotten another main for the same price. The service while polite was rather snobby and despite tipping 15% remained ungrateful and teetering between apathetic and indicating that we were a bother even though we were model customers. I get the whole “exclusive restaurant” vibe they may be trying to cultivate but a smile goes a long way and we...

This place is well deserved for the Michelin recommendation. It’s a local gem different from those restaurants located in the touristy area, but easy to get there by U1. We love the ambience, a romantic tranquility with a yard. The food is great, ingredients are all freshly from local or other EU region. Wolfgang recommended us the mushroom from the daily special list, it’s heavenly delicious. My wife and I also ordered fresh water fish fillet and veal schnitzel, both are amazing. We will for sure come back again. Thank you Wolfgang for the detailed introduction of each dish’s ingredients and...
