Good day, I had a chance to visit the venue in March, at around 6-7 p.m. weekday. It was not possible to get a tabel, but there was no problem to see at "high chair" table in first room. The climate of the place is really great. The service is very fast and friendly. The food is exceptional. Believe me you would not expect such quality in a regular "wirt" in Vienne. We had a Kaspressknodel as starter, Surschnizel and Schweinbraten. I am sorry not making the photo. The quality of ingredients are high. The way the dish is served is very "tasty" one. The food itself on the high quality, as for this kind of "Austrian" food, that is recognized as heavy. Also the restaurant is one of few offering Budweiser beer, that goes perfect with the food. I strongly recommend for meeting with friend as well as with family. If you need a regular table a reservation is recommended. We had a chance to have for a few minutes at our tabel an owner Mr. Mile, who gave us a couple of tips about Vienna's restaurants and (what was the best part) we discussed about all cities in CEE region from perspective of its "position" at restaurant map :).
Anyway- strongly recommended !!!!!! BR Lukasz
Good day again,
I have visited the place again just yesterday (17 June). It was late afternoon. They arrange few tabel outside, that is in deed very nice idea and bringing relaxing atmosphere. I need to say that the service team was even more friendly than before and I had a feeling I am an old client that is very welcome and treated very warmly. This time I was just a bit more original (:):):)), as I stared with black pudding that is served with caramelized onion (sweet in deed and not heavy) and horseradish (I would say reasonably hot) -all in it was fantastic- strongly recommended to all "blood" lovers :) !!!!!. As main dish I had again "Sur Schnitzel" and I would again not stop to evaluated it above regular "Wiener" one :). The food is great what is function of truly high quality ingredients and proper preparation- my respect to chief!!
The owner of the restaurant (Mile) found time for us and we could listen to his "never-ending" fantastic anecdotes about Viennese, CEE and Balkan region restaurants, culture, drinks, wine etc etc. If only you have a chance to meet Mile do not pass opportunity to pay him respect for great place he created. Believe me you will be paid back by his kindness and friendship. Feel free also to ask him for recommendation of wine for your food- he is "The Expert"- believe me.
For everyone who likes Austrian and Viennese food the Praterwirt restaurant needs to be OBLIGATORY added to "MUST BE" list during next time you visit Vienna and 2nd district.

We finally had the change to visits Praterwirt. It is a newly opened restaurant and butcher shop near Praterstern.
The three major selling points of Praterwirt are that they have tank beer commonly found in Czechia under the name pivo z tanku. They offer a fresh, crisp and unfiltrated Budweiser from the tank. It is really fresh and taste amazing - recommended that you grab a pint if you are there.
The other main draw of Praterwirt is that they have a butcher shop inhouse and that all there cuts and meats are done fresh by their inhouse butcher. We had the XO (extra old) dry-aged Tomahawk steak. The meat was so tender, juicy and tasted remarkable. If you can you should grab one of their steak offerings!
Another star of Praterwirt is the homemade Leberkäse - also great taste, texture and not chunky at all. The pair it with a super crisp bread roll.
Big shout out also to the waiter - according to the recipe - Max who was extremely attentive and friendly. We had to wait quite a bit for the 1.5 kg Tomahawk to be ready and were accommodate with a Leberkässemmel as starter.
All in all a great meat paradise and if you are not planning to dine-in you can always grab something on the go from their...
Read moreI visited this restaurant a few days ago. As it was one of the few times I could go to Vienna, I avoid to have breakfast and lunch to enjoy the traditional Vienna dishes for dinner.
But it was very busy day with the very important EURO 2024 match and unfortunately I could only order two beers(these are so good). Fortunately the match turned out very well for Australia .
The reason for the three stars is only that I did not have the opportunity to eat the delicious dishes and wines in this restaurant because of the important match.
However, the owner of this restaurant gave me very warm consideration. I sincerely appreciate his thoughtfulness.
I don't know when I will be able to go to Vienna next, but if I have the opportunity to go to this restaurant , I would like to enjoy Austrian wine and good dishes to the fullest! I am very much looking...
