Coconut Curry – A Pan-Asian Experience with a European Twist

Coconut Curry offers a pleasant dining experience with friendly and efficient staff and a diverse Pan-Asian menu featuring dishes from Thailand, Vietnam, and China. The extensive menu, complete with pictures of nearly every dish, makes choosing a meal easy for both newcomers and seasoned lovers of Asian cuisine.

The food itself is tasty and prepared with quality ingredients, but those expecting truly authentic Asian flavors may find the European influence a bit too strong. A clear example of this is the Papaya Salad, which traditionally features green (unripe) papaya in a spicy dressing. Here, however, it was served with ripe papaya, avocado, tomatoes, and a green leaf salad—delicious on its own but far from an authentic Thai Som Tam.

On the other hand, the Szechuan Beef, served sizzling hot and prepared extra spicy as requested, was an excellent dish that delivered on flavor and heat.

An absolute delight. Really friendly service and comfortable good looking interior. The food was just perfect. There's a lot to choose from on their menu but I'll comment on what we ordered:

The Vegetable Pad Thai was delicious and paired perfectly with their cucumber lemonade to cut through some of the oiliness. The Thai Red Curry is great for those who enjoy a spicy kick of lemongrass without having it overpower the rich curry flavour of the dish (so rare to find!). The Satay Curry was moreish and creamy with a smooth rich flavour. It was the perfect balance of savouriness and hit just the right spot after a day full of walking around sightseeing. We also ordered some sushi and I have to commend the restaurant on the quality and freshness of their fish. The tuna in the Spicy Tuna roll was buttery, soft and tasted perfectly clean and the salmon maki rolls were moist and yummy.

I'd like to thank the staff for making us feel so welcome even when we arrived under an hour...

**I am so unpleasantly surprised by the quality of my Philadelphia rolls that I ordered to take away. I don't understand why this place has such a high rating. I have never seen this before, but my rolls were almost without (!!!) Philadelphia cheese (!!!), which should be one of the main ingredients in Philadelphia rolls. You will not be able to find the cheese in the picture. Additionally, one of the rolls had a big piece of avocado and almost no salmon, while another one was only with salmon.
