MARIO Pasta-Grill-Bar — Restaurant in Vienna

I recently dined at this restaurant and had a generally enjoyable experience, though it wasn’t without its flaws. The food was good, but it didn’t quite live up to the expectations I had based on the price point. While the flavors were pleasant, I felt that the dishes could have been more refined or creative to justify the cost. That said, it was still enjoyable, just not exceptional.

One issue during the visit was the service. The waitstaff was clearly very busy, and while they were polite and friendly, they seemed a bit overwhelmed. Unfortunately, this led to them forgetting our drinks, which was a little disappointing. Mistakes happen, of course, and they did their best to make up for it, but it did detract from the overall experience.

Despite these minor setbacks, the restaurant still has its merits. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and I could see why it has a good reputation. While it didn’t completely blow me away, it was still a solid dining experience. I’d recommend it to others, but with the caveat that it may not fully deliver on its premium pricing.

Overall, I’d rate the experience four stars. The food and ambiance were good, and while the service had its hiccups, it wasn’t enough to ruin the meal. A quite comfortable and nice place with very delicious food. The prices are not cheap and within this it would be expected a relevant food quality and service. The food is great. I was wonder that they include automatically an additional service table cost within 3.90 per person, which includes a standard cutlery set and 4 pieces of bread with small olive dressing in total for 2 people. I was also surprised by the arrogance of the waiter, when paying the bill, he directly asked what amount he shall put for payment, including the tips. If the tips shall be set as a percentage of the amount or I will indicate the amount in euros. I think this is not serious for a place that positions itself as a respectable restaurant. Scam. Bad food and service but will force you to pay a minimum 7.5% tips - which is ridiculous.

1. 45 mins wait for the main course.
2. When we said we wanted water, the waiter did not even tell us there was tap water until they already opened a bottle of still water which costed 8 euro. (Obviously other tables had tap water)
3. Small portion of food but overpriced.
4. Waiter did not even come to check on us from time to time.
5. Hidden charges in the menu - they charge a cover charge of 4 euro per person unless you waive it.
6. With all this the waiter dared to force us to pay for tips when we said no. We said just 1 euro, he said minimum is 7.5%. All we could do was to pay...
