mel&koffie Alser Straße — Restaurant in Vienna

During my breakfast visit, I had the pleasure of trying the delicious Erdbeer Schenke, which was a true delight. The coffee served was also of good quality and complemented the meal nicely.

Most of the staff members were attentive and provided a pleasant experience. However, I encountered a moment of impatience from one particular staff member. When I ordered a black coffee, she brought it to me and asked if I ordered "Verlängerter" (a type of coffee in German). I looked confused because I didn’t know whats a verlängerter and I said that I ordered"schwarze Kaffee" (black coffee), to which she responded in a somewhat rude manner, and put it on the table and left. Her tone and lack of friendliness were disappointing, especially as a customer who spoke German fluently. It would have been appreciated if she had handled the situation with more understanding and professionalism.

Despite this minor interaction, the overall experience was positive due to the delicious food and the majority of the staff's attentiveness. I would recommend this place for breakfast, keeping in mind that some staff members may need improvement in their customer service skills. I know the place has much to offer so I wont rate it according to one member of the staff, but through the reviews here it seemed like alot of people faced the same problem. This is a cozy place for a quick coffee or lunch with very friendly staff. They offer pieces of pizzas and some sweets.

I tried the sweets and they were ok. Even though the sweets were not something that would take my breath away, but they are ok for a fast break.

My only issue was that the air conditioner was not able to cool the place in that hot day and I was literally melting even though I had a thin and wide dress armless on. It was so hot thay I got a bad headache and my whole clothing was wet of sweat.

I found mel.koffie by accident... or maybe it found me, hard to say 😌 I needed safe place to gather my thoughts and take a break. Mel.koffie just happened to be close and when I saw welcoming interior, decided to see what's inside. What made me stay, though, was the view of beautiful schnecke (let's be honest, Austrians can do them). Unfortunately those ones with fruits were sold out, so decided for mohn-schneck with poppy seeds and some frosting on top. It was soft and fluffy, full of flavour.
