This was our first Viennese schnitzel and potato salad and to be honest, they were the best. They just left a great impression on me that I was always expecting from other places we went through, but they never delivered this level of deliciousness. The potato salad surprised me because it reminded me of how my grandma, my mum and now me, make it. It was very well-seasoned - just the right amount vinegar and salt. The schnitzel was really well-prepared - super crispy, well-seasoned and the batter was light and it wasn't at all that oily. Just a delight! The second dish was mashed potatoes with lamb kufte (sorry, can't find the name of the dish now..) The mashed potatoes were heavenly, just like the potato salad! The meatballs were also really tasty and this is coming from someone that is not a fan of lamb. Coffee was really good too, pretty tasty and also well-prepared. The atmosphere was also really pleasant, and there weren't that many people which was a good thing for me. I loved the decor and just the overall feel of the place! It felt genuine and it had a welcoming feel to it. The waiter was also super polite and honestly, the interaction with him really improved the overall restaurant experience and later the stay in Vienna, as weird as that may sound, but he was the first person in Vienna we had a proper interaction with. In any case, I highly recommend the restaurant! I hope to...
Read moreAn authentic corner pub serving a simple range of lovely food. We had the schnitzel which came with chips or potato salad! Both were delicious! Our waiter Wolfgang spoke good English which was a life saver as none of us speak more than school boy German!
They had a passable non alcoholic beer, the draught beer was good too!
(Shout out to Barbara the owner for some tourist tips!)
This is not a tourist trap, full of locals the food was fresh plentiful and delicious and...
Read moreLocal gem of a restaurant, or rather a Wirtshaus. Had Frittatensuppe (soup with pancake) for starter and schnitzel with potato salad for main as well as Luwanze for desert. Hard to beat the taste and homy quality and feeling, as well as the great prices. Three courses with a beer (Schnaitl) and a glass of welschriesling 20eur. Mamy locals come here, bring their dog and play cards over a beer. Great and attentive service. Will love to come...
