My wife and I were visiting Vienna from America in September 2025 and we stayed in the 3rd district. On our way back to our hotel one night, we passed The Oak and me being of Irish Decent, wanted to go to an Irish Pub in Vienna. So on our 3rd night in Vienna my wife and I went and we loved it. It had a true Irish Pub spirit. Everyone was loud and having what appeared to be a really great time. My wife and I sat in a corner of the restaurant and enjoy the atmosphere thoroughly. Our waiter was Gerald and he was really great as was every one of the staff there. He was engaging and very attentive. I liked him very much. Everyone there was very pleasant and very attentive too. My wife got a blond pilsner and I got a really great lemonade. For dinner my wife got a Pork Belly sandwich which she absolutely loved and I got, of all things, a chicken cutlet parm dinner which seems amazing to get in an Irish Pub in Vienna but it was great. The sauce was extremely tasty. For dessert we got the Banana Bread and it too was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our night out at The Oak and we highly recommend it. We only wish we were staying longer to try it again. Please remember to tip as they do not charge a service charge for...
Read moreIt was my first time at The Oak. Walking into the bar, it was cozy, yet spacious with nearly all of the interior being made of wood; bonus points for the fireplace active during colder days (I'd assume). Service was prompt, the food menu, and drink options were well-articulated/explained by a very dedicated member of staff who introduced himself as Peter, who was more than willing to chat us up more than expected, however very appreciated. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were, at a reasonable price which should not understate the quality, which was top-tier. Throughout the evening, we had multiple waiters serve us, (normally off-putting), however all were just as interested in creating a good experience for us. Our second server, Darren, was there for us whenever we needed him; if only all Irish pubs had an Irishman, and well-moustached figure at the forefront. 10/10 would recommend for food, service and quality of atmosphere. A reservation is also recommended as we were lucky to...
Read moreHad two dinners here on our stay in Vienna. The first with a tour group of 18 people. It was a fixed menu of tomato-basil soup, schnitzel, and apple strudel for desert. The schnitzel and strudel were excellent, but the highlight of the meal was the tomato-basil soup. It was to die for. O'Connors is not a fancy place, but the staff is great; very cordial, gracious, and attentive. Went back the second evening for some Connemara Irish whisky. Again the staff was attentive and cordial. Went back the 3rd night. Had the basil-tomato soup again. Still the best. For some reason the owner wouldn't share the recipe except to say there were tomatoes in it. The entree this time was BBQ'ed ribs. They were excellent and fall-off-the-bone. They were served with a side of potato salad with capers. Also very tasty. The plate of ribs was big enough to share. I did with my two friends at the table with me. But just a little share. Would go back...
