Wolfsbergers Gastwirtschaft — Restaurant in Vienna

Thanks to all the reviewers who recommended this place. just wanted to go to some other part of Vienna so right after the Kunst museum I hopped on tram 2 at Volkstheater stop and was at the restaurant in 20 minutes. It was 9.20 p.m. and the tall host with beautiful blue eyes in good English explained that I have to make the order by 9:30. I asked him to give me any meat he would recommend and a salad plus a big beer. He recommended assortment of grilled meats which were delicious. I sat on a large terrace which was really cool in all senses of the word and quiet which was welcoming after the noisy hot center. I liked that part of Ottakring area a lot. A nice change of setting. Came back to the center via tram 44 to Schottentor where I switched to tram 1 or D to be at Karlsplatz in 5 min....

The food was delicious and well prepared, and the service was kind, but... We arrived around 7PM, and we were instructed to pick any table at the outdoor section. Then a waiter told us that we cannot sit outside, because we didn't have a reservation, although there were plenty of free tables without a "reserved" sign. We were - politely - told that we can only sit indoors without a standing reservation. We were the only ones sitting inside, which was quite demeaning. When we ate our dinner and left, there were still lots of free tables outdoors, so we were very sorry that we had to enjoy the food in solitude, in the hot indoors,...

Walked here for a local dinner near our airbnb apt. What a gem! Sat at a small table right by the door- had no idea there was a garden here! But no regrets, we had a straight view into the chef's kitchen where we could enjoy watching all the prepwork. The food was fantastic- all winners! Goulash, Cordon Bleu, Char, Blueberry Strudel, and the Chocolate Nut Cake. SO GOOD, service friendly and prompt, reasonable prices. If I lived here, I would become a...
