Bennigan's — Restaurant in Bahrain Island

I wish I could give this place a 2.5 but I have to round up because there is no such thing as a half star so I put a 3. I would like to say that the first time i came here was the worst experience of my life, it all started when my family and I came back from the airport and were starving, my parents had heard that this restaurant was really good from a couple of friends so we decided to go and try it out, and its about to get worse. So my family and I started to enter the restaurant OK, and we didn't think much of it at first just a normal restaurant, but then when we looked at the menu it had barely any options for kids and a lot of spicy options for adults, I wasn't really a fan of spicy at restaurants because spicy food at restaurants wasn't right for me most of the time but there were no other options, so I had made my decision for what to order, I wanted to order these ribs with this barbecue sauce, when the waiter came, we asked him if we could have the ribs with no spicy at all and he said sure we can do that it is possible. So then we started to thin about the place more positively because they could make what the customer wanted, after a few minutes of waiting the ribs had arrived, they looked so yummy but little did I know when i tried then that I would start a fire in my mouth, it was the spiciest thing I had in months and I was honestly very disappointed because the waiter said it wouldn't be spicy at all, honestly that first time that I came was the worst. So my family and I came back a year later to see if there was any improvement, and let me tell you they improved by 100% they had more food options, they took out that horrible smoking smell, and service was way faster and the place was more clean. i would have given this place more stars if my first visit was better but they have definitely improved from a 1 year difference. Just to be clear I feel like this place is mostly for people who want to enjoy some type of alcoholic drink because there are many really crazy options and sizes for alcoholic drinks, so maybe this would be less of a place to dine and ore of a place to come...

The staff over there are very helpful and very polite especially Alyssa, she responds very fast and always smiling.

I've ordered a Ribeye steak (20+ BD) and asked it to be cooked medium, I got a grey, raw, cold steak and extremely under seasoned. The meat quality itself was decent but whoever cooked it has no clue how to cook a steak.

The burger was very good, decent size and flavourful.

The ketchup they use is disgusting, it says Heinz on the bottle but I'm 100% sure that it is not, it tastes liked a spoiled and extremely cheap ketchup that was filled in a Heinz bottle which is a very cheap thing to do.

Chicken wings were very good, tender, juicy and flavorful.

Coffee definitely needs to be changed.

The brownie with ice cream is a very good dessert choice.

The restaurant overall needs some renovations and pest control.

Based on the Ribeye experience and deceiving people with the ketchup (ketchup is important to me 😊) and state of the place, I rate them 2 stars.
