I frequently visit Biba Restaurant in Bahrain, and it consistently lives up to my expectations. It’s easily one of the best Lebanese restaurants in the country, offering an unbeatable combination of rich flavors, a beautiful sea view, and outstanding service.
We began our meal with the Istanbuli hummus, which was excellent—vibrantly flavored with beetroot and pickles, adding a unique twist. The beef hummus, while flavorful, was a little too salty for my taste. However, the kibbeh aqras was exceptional: fresh, juicy, and absolutely perfect when dipped in tahini. The muhammara was also a highlight—spicy, savory, and full of depth. One dish you absolutely shouldn’t miss is the lahmet asfoor. It’s a must-try—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with just the right spices to bring out the best in the meat.
For the main course, we had the shish tawook, which was cooked beautifully. The chicken was tender, well-marinated, and served alongside grilled green chili, tomato, and crispy fried potatoes. On a previous visit, I tried the chicken biryani, which truly impressed me—it’s honestly better than what many Indian restaurants offer.
For dessert, I highly recommend the kunafa. It was delicious—crispy on the outside with a warm, cheesy center and just the right amount of sweetness. However, I wasn’t a fan of the Umm Ali; the rose water flavor was too overpowering for my palate.
I must take a moment to highlight our server, Hassan Al Saffar. His professionalism and attentiveness elevated the entire dining experience. He was warm, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Hassan made sure every detail of our visit was perfect—from offering thoughtful recommendations to ensuring the table was always attended without being intrusive. His genuine hospitality, patience, and positive attitude reflect the high standards of service that truly make Biba stand out. It’s rare to find someone who combines such warmth with efficiency.
The only drawback is the seating for non-smokers, which is tucked away with limited tables and a less prominent view. It would be great if this area were expanded or enhanced. That said, the overall experience at Biba remains fantastic, and I always look forward to...
Read moreI started with Arayes (BHD 5.900), a Lebanese classic of meat-stuffed pita. Biba's rendition was a true delight – crispy on the outside and wonderfully juicy within, with the meat seasoned just right. It's a dish that perfectly captures the essence of comforting Middle Eastern flavors.
Next, the Batata Harra (BHD 3.600) did not disappoint. These spicy potatoes, tossed with coriander and garlic, were crispy on the exterior and tender inside, delivering a satisfying kick without being overwhelmingly hot. It's a testament to how a simple side dish can be elevated with expert preparation.
To round off the meal, I opted for a double shot Turkish coffee (BHD 3.200). It was rich, very strong, and perfectly brewed, providing that authentic, robust flavor one expects from a good Turkish coffee.
The two Indian servers who had attended were not only polite and attentive but also genuinely helpful, contributing greatly to a pleasant dining experience.
The ambiance at Biba is a mixed bag, depending on where you're seated. The sheesha area is undeniably excellent, boasting a spacious and inviting setting that lends itself to a relaxed and enjoyable evening. However, the non-sheesha area is a stark contrast, being a narrow and small space that unfortunately detracts from the overall dining enjoyment. For those seeking a quieter, smoke-free environment, the limited and less appealing non-sheesha section might be a deterrent.
Parking in the surrounding area costs BHD 1 per hour, which is fairly standard. A welcome perk, however, is the 50% discount offered by Biba when paying your bill. This makes parking much more manageable, though be mindful of the 15-minute exit window from the parking gate...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Biba Restaurant in the Bahrain Bay area, and it was a truly outstanding experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a chic and modern decor that perfectly complemented the scenic views of the bay. The restaurant’s atmosphere created the ideal setting for a memorable meal.
The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, blending international flavors with local twists, and each plate was a masterpiece. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the ingredients – everything tasted fresh and perfectly balanced. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience even better. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured every detail was taken care of.
What stood out most was the passion that the chefs and team clearly have for their work. The presentation was as stunning as the taste, and every dish felt like it was prepared with thought and care. The dessert selection was a perfect way to end the meal – beautifully presented and incredibly delicious.
Overall, Biba Restaurant exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to return. Whether you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy an exceptional meal with loved ones, Biba is a must-visit in...
