Mermaid Cafe in Cox's Bazaar is a hidden gem that transports you to a cinematic cafe setting, reminiscent of those laid-back scenes in a Hawaiian movie.

The overall ambiance is a winner, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

What adds an extra layer of charm is the genuinely friendly and amiable staff, making you feel right at home. They greeted and served us with beaming smile the whole time.

Our culinary journey kicked off with the Tom Yum soup, and it was a revelation of flavors. The soup struck a perfect balance, with each spoonful delivering a delightful combination of savory and spicy notes. It's the kind of dish that leaves a lasting impression, showcasing the chef's skill in creating a memorable taste experience.

Now, let's talk about the Seafood Platter – a visual and gastronomic delight. The platter presented a tempting array of fresh seafood that not only looked impressive but tasted equally fantastic. The chef's attention to quality ingredients and meticulous preparation was evident in every bite, making it a standout dish on the menu.

We finished our dinner with Coconut sorbet, a tropical delight that captures the essence of the region's local coconuts. This frozen treat is a refreshing escape, offering a burst of coconut flavor that feels authentic and true to the area. The natural sweetness of the coconut shines through, creating a harmonious balance that's not overly sugary.

Mermaid Cafe, with its unique blend of a captivating atmosphere, warm hospitality, and standout dishes like the Tom Yum soup, Seafood Platter, and Coconut sorbet stands as a must-visit spot in Cox's Bazaar. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this cafe promises a delightful escape into a world of great vibes and even better food. It's a culinary journey that lingers in your memory, inviting you to return for more.

I will visit again for sure.

All the best and keep up...

The Mermaid Café in Cox's Bazar is a popular eating establishment that is known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, as well as its delicious cuisine. It is located in Cox's Bazar, a seaside town in Bangladesh that is famous for its miles of golden sand beaches and crystal clear waters. The café is a popular spot for both locals and tourists and is known for its fresh seafood dishes, as well as its other authentic local and international cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a light snack, a full meal, or just a refreshing drink, the Mermaid Café is a great place to relax and enjoy the local atmosphere.

This is an eco-resort with some design flaws, so it's pretty hot to dine in there. I was pleased with the freshness and quality of the food. Suitable for all kinds of people.

It offers sustainable tourism and a unique experience for travelers, as it's designed with the environment and local communities in mind. The resort offers various accommodations, dining options, and activities that aim to immerse guests in the local culture while minimizing their impact on the environment.

We had our Iftar there last time and visit often.

Only one downside here, the waiting time. So please make sure you have at least 30 minutes in hand when ordering your food.

If you’re extremely hungry and need food served to you right away, then Mermaid is not suitable for you.

I had rather high expectations of this place after reading the google reviews and seeing the 4.2 star rating. However, as soon as the food came in, all hopes went plunging down the drain. To start off, the cafe is in a secluded area, no beachside views. It gave off a very casual vibe, done up in a beach shack kind of style. It was a little rundown; the fish pools were not well maintained, but I was ready to compromise for some amazing, fresh seafood. The food was, to say disappointing, is a huge understatement. To start off, we ordered mussels and squid as entrees, which took 45 minutes to arrive. It was overcooked to the point that it was tough and rubbery. Mussels which were supposed to be soft and supple was instead chewy. The lobster and fish bbq we ordered were equally overcooked with random sauce over it. The other sauces served in the side were store bought, out of bottles. The piece de resistance of this c**pshow was the soup. IT was bits of seafood that had been boiled to death in a weakly flavoured concoction of coriander leaves. The taste was so bad we had it returned to the kitchen, we made our issues known to the waiters, but there was zero response from the chef. Ultimately it was 6000 bdt that was flushed down the drain. I do NOT recommend that anyone go here, the entire place was empty except for us, this should have been the first clue that the google reviews did not exactly line up...

The Nature Theme is the best thing about it. It's so green and beautiful. But it's hot. I mean like hot hot. I started sweating in just 20 minutes. But the nature theme makes that worthwhile. The hospitality of all the staff are super delightful. They are very polite and gentle. They also bought a bouquet for my wife. That was very nice of them I'd say. And I thank them for that. Now, for the main part. The Food. Honestly, it was not that good. The BBQ pizza just wasn't that tasty. I mean, it was bland and only had 1 taste. The taste of cheese, but bland. Not the real cheese taste even. But a bland taste of cheese. And nothing. I knew I was chewing Meat, Onions, Tomatoes, and capsicum, but I couldn't tell the taste of those things. And the worst part is, they say, " the longer you wait for food, the tastier it gets." We waited 40 minutes for a Pizza that was tasteless. To make it even worse! The pizza that we saw in the menu was 850/= it was maybe the classic pizza, the boy said they can make it BBQ pizza if I want. So I said yes. And they charged 1250/= for it. I mean seriously! 1250 for this tasteless Pizza? We had great pizza's that cost 600/=. I don't know about other foods, but Do not. Let me say again, Do Not Order Pizza here. You'll thank me later. Accept the food everything was great. Accept the food. :)
