We had a wonderful experience at and/or Antwerp! The interior of this cool, Belgian, plant based restaurant is giving minimalistic chic vibes with a modern, hip twist. There are tables places near each other but not too close by and there are also bar seats that overlook the serving area. We arrived and were greeted by a waitress. The greeting was a bit cumbersome (maybe because they were busy) and I would have expected a bit more hospitality to begin with. We arrived and stood there for a little while until the lady came, asked us if we had a reservation (yes) then vaguely pointed towards one of the corners and said “you can sit there”, then disappeared. Since there were people standing up from that corner, we waited until they left. I asked her again, as she passed, which one was our table and she pointed to a different one and said “there” impatiently. We ordered a glass of cava to start with and explored the menu, which is not only plant based but also super creative and unique. Prices are decent and portion sizes match the expectations! We kicked it off with the sourdough bread and vegan butter (to die for) and then had the green asparagus and the carrot dip with Kohlrabi as starters. Both absolutely delicious! As a main course we had the creamy baby potatoes (my personal highlight) and the fennel polenta. And again, the dishes were absolutely perfect. We had a glass of primitivo with the main. The waitress was attentive and present without being intrusive. She mixed up one of the dishes which was not a big deal at all. However, i would have wished for the service to be a bit more communicative and would have loved to hear more about the dishes, the chefs ideas and their origin. We shared the cake of the day for dessert, which was cake tres leches (also vegan ofc) and it was the perfect round off to a delicious dinner. 75€ pP also makes a decent price for such a unique experience. Read moreI am extremely happy that Antwerp was gifted this gem of a restaurant ! The decor is refined and the pairing of natural materials and colours makes it relaxing to the eye. The main reason you’ll come here though is for the food. The chefs (who work right in front of you behind the bar) meticulously create the dishes you are served. We sat at a table but the coolest experience must be at the bar, where you can experience from close by the making of your meal. It’s a sharing concept, some dishes are bigger and more filling than others, so go for 1,5-2 dishes per person (more if you’re very hungry). The radishes with cashew cream are a must, you’ll want to lick that cream off your plate, it’s that good (but you won’t because this is a refined establishment) and the butter basted celeriac will surprise you with its rich and unexpected flavours (I forgot to take a picture of it!) We also had the broccoli with chickpea pancake which was delicious and a slice of the cake of the day. The amazing thing is that it’s all vegan. We were here for an early dinner and we will come back...
Read moreWe arrived not long after opening and took place on the terrace. We ordered a drink and the first dishes. We then and there already knew that it was going to be a great experience. The service was personal, no nonsense and just very natural. We ended up sitting at the bar and ordering the whole menu. Every dish was even more delicious than the previous one. All ingredients were fresh and pure, and prepared with much care and skills. The chef is meticulous in her preparations which results in plates that are beautifully presented but taste even better. Service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this location for vegetarians and vegans. One of the best restaurants I've done in a long time. Great value for money too. Great job guys, we'll...
