We were looking for a vegan place where there was a nice atmosphere, good healthy food (no junk) and where we would be tampered after a long day of hard work. Well, the people of Bar D'Henri made that happen. Everything feels right about this place. You're sincerely being welcomed when you arrive which is uncommon nowadays in my opinion. We were actually 'annoyed' by the menu because we couldn't decide from all the delicious options, we wanted it ALL haha. That's why we took the 5-course tapas which is amazing value for your money. It seems they make everything themselves in house, and that's what you see and taste back in the dishes and drinks. What we really liked about this place is that it doesn't scream VEGAN, although everything is vegan except for one cheese platter. And as entrepreneurs in the vegan space this is something that we think the market needs. A good restaurant with good food that happens to be vegan so we can show non-vegans how delicious plantbased food can be and that you really don't have to miss anything. Big thumbs up to the young owners and definitely go eat here when you're in Antwerp, you won't be...
Read moreBar d’Henri is not just a cafe, bar or bistro, it’s a place where you feel at home. You can unwind calmly with a glass of wine, or read the newspaper while drinking a cup of french press coffee. You can get away from the office for a hearty healthy lunch, or meet for a romantic date later on. Bar d’Henri allows for a spontaneous get-together, or a big family dinner.
With a big focus on atmosphere and their personal touch, the Bar d’Henri team welcomes everyone with a smile. A jazzbistro hidden in the resitential south of Antwerp, a hub for locals, a hidden gem for tourists. The open kitchen makes you feel part of the story, creating a comforting, homey environment. The menu consists of dishes you already think to know, but they have given their own seasonal and plant-based twist to it. Every sauce, dip and dressing is home made, adding extra unique quality to their cuisine. Expect the unexpected: tuck into plates filled with lush colour, flavour and texture. Atmospheric live jazz on Thursdays, funky vinyl & cocktails on Fridays and a great location to host private events in the weekend. Worth a...
Read moreWow! Went to Bar d'Henri during my overnight stay in Antwerp and I wish I had better words to tell you how impressed I was. Seriously, whatever I said, will make no justice to how good it really was.
Keep in mind, this comes from a guy who unfortunately likes meat a LOT. I understand and support veganism, I'd say in every aspect of it, but I guess I'm just weak (maybe someday I'll manage!). I swear, 2 things came to my mind after I nervously took the first bite of my vegan burger. 1. Djeez!! This is far better that I could've imagine. Going Vegan would be a lot easier if I had easy access to this! (I already requested/suggested expanding the business to Costa Rica haha)
Really guys, I'm a meat and picky eater and I was so pleased with the food here!
If you're already into vegan food, this place will not disappoint and if same as me, you're not much into, still give this place a try, I bet you'll be happily...
