Goesting — Restaurant in Antwerp

Let me start off with saying this place looks really cutesy. It's very relaxing. And the people working here were really friendly, which also contributes to the experience. Now, the food was not what we had hoped for. When I looked at the menu, which is way too extensive, looking at the size of the place, I was affraid the quality would be inferior. And sadly I was right. The soup, that took a long time to arrive, was EXTREMELY peppery (and I love a lot of black pepper in my food, even a bit too much). And when I told the person working there, he laughed awkwardly. I'm not sure what happened here, because my partner's soup (which was another type of soup) had the same problem. Anyway, I hope this was just a one-time thing and it was just bad luck...

Slightly out of the centre of Antwerp, but definitely worth the effort. A popular place, with locals queuing for tables at lunchtime. Helpful staff who found us a place quickly in the small, bright dining room. Tables outside, but slightly too chilly on the day we visited. Small, simple menu and fresh pastries and cakes at the counter. Had a very nice bottle of Vedet beer with the roast beef sandwich I ordered. The BLT was delicious and would’ve been worth the trip on its own! Would definitely recommend and...

Such amazing salads!! Loads of smoked salmon on the smoked salmon salad, and plenty of Brie on the Brie one! We also had a side of bread for €1 and the bread was incredible! Great value, lovely food and lovely atmosphere! Also the hot orange juice with ginger and the strawberry and mint house lemonade were incredible!...
