We made no reservation, but this was no problem. We were seated on old school wooden chairs and our table was not stable. The waiter told us he would fix it, but he forgot. We ignored it as it was not that big a problem. Food was very good, but relatively pricy regarding the size of the portions. When we asked for the bill, our waiter had gone home and someone else responded. However, he was too busy closing up the first floor (there were only 2 tables occupied at this moment), so it took him almost 15 minutes to take our money. Overall not that great experience.
Edit: We went in group for a second time. (Everyone deserves a second chance, isn't it?) Again, the food was on point, however, our group was not served drinks at the same time, and the apero of some people came with the food itself (which didn't come at the same time either). It was very busy, which would explain this. However, if a restaurant cannot handle this, then it shouldn't place that many tables. Just like with our first bad experience here, I felt ignored by the personnel. Again, not a...
Read moreYum, yum, yum!! This place is an absolute gem. Having chosen this Italian gem in a city area filled with Italian options, I feel like I was meant to live such quality a quality experience.
I ordered the lasagna with beef and my +1 ordered the lasagna with lamb. Now, going to an Italian restaurant with an Italian is always a bold move, but these flavourful meals convinced her that we truly were meant to step into this restaurant.
Every bite was consistent with flavour, activating every palette on my tongue. The meals had such a rich taste, to urge degree that allows you to almost simultaneously taste each ingredient on its own from the dish. We were beyond pleased.
Just a tip, if you’re not huge eaters, consider sharing your main course dish, as you’ll want all the space you can to enjoy a starter but also dessert!!
Thanks to the staff for being so friendly and courteous. Highly recommend visiting this spot if you’re ever around, it’s a very welcoming and cozy...
Read moreSuperb wine & delicious food with good-sized (ie sensible) portions. On paper the food appeared slightly expensive to me, but the quality delivered on both our meals.
I was slightly dubious given the location (its location is very central, and set amongst a lot of tourist trap restaurants with pictures of food on menus outside) but we trusted the reviews and it paid off. A very enjoyable evening and seemed to have a lot of Belgians here, always a good sign!
We had the tagliatelle with anchovies and the pasta rolls, and drank two glasses each of the Rioja and an Italian red from Puglia. Both were bold, punchy very flavoursome & satisfying with an outstanding nose. Served at the perfect temperature and clearly kept well.
The bread and olives served immediately after ordering was a sufficient starter for us. Total bill was around €60.
The service was straightforward, efficient, friendly with very good English (my Flemish...
