Horrendous service. We went to eat there because the restaurant seemed very popular compared to the ones in the same area. It was full of locals so we thought it would be a good choice. Let me tell you, it was not!

We asked a waiter (1) at the entrance if they had a table for 2, he pointed one out for us that we could sit at. The table was dirty as we sat down. There was an qr code at the table so we assumed we wouldn't receive a menu and thats why we went ahead to have a look for food and drinks. Several of the staff passed us in the meantime but no one recognized us being new customers and no one approached us to take our orders. After around 15 minutes we asked a waiter (2) if he could take our orders. He said yes and came to set up our table with cutlery and placemats. After he left without taking the orders. So we had to ask another waiter (3) to please take our orders. We should have left at this point I guess...

We had ordered two beers, one sprite, a salad, bruscetta and a main dish. Another two waiters (4 and 5) delivered the drinks and meals. The Sprite didn't get served, the salad came without dressing and no oil and vinegar was served on the side. A few waiters passed us again but we didnt manage to get their attention. We finally waved at another waitress (6) and asked her for dressing, ketchup and the missing sprite.

She left and came back to tell us that the sprite hadn't been ordered. She left again was serving a few people looked at us after a few minutes and must have realized that she forgot about us. She came back right away with oil and vinegar. Unfortunately I had to remind her one more time for the ketchup. She left again an served us the ketchup after quite some time. For three small requests she took 3 times to deliver plus she needed to be reminded in-between. She herself would save so much time and effort just doing everything at once...

As none of the waiters was attentive and at every step of the service we needed to asked them for assistance, we decided to get the bill sorted out straight away so we wouldn't need to wait ages again for someone to come to our table. So I asked the waitress (6) for the bill when she brought us the ketchup. She came with the printed bill and some candy. I said I wanted to pay by card and she left. She never came back...

Another waiter (7) was clearing the table next to us so I asked him to pay. The food was ordinary and pricey. They have sh*t loads of staff but none of them gives any kind of service. We had to deal with 7 different people during our stay and got ignored by...

Nestled in the heart of Antwerpen, Da Giovanni stands as the best Italian restaurant in the town. From the moment you step inside, you know that you will most certainly eat delicious Italian cuisine and enjoy the excellent service.

Ambiance: The ambiance of Da Giovanni is nothing but amazing. The interior has an old-world charm with its rustic wooden furniture, soft candlelight, and Italian classics softly playing in the background. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a night out, the cozy yet traditional atmosphere sets the perfect stage for a memorable dining experience.

Service: From the moment you're greeted at the door to the final farewell, the service at Da Giovanni is exemplary. The staff are not only knowledgeable about the menu but also passionate about ensuring that every guest's needs are met with warmth and efficiency. Whether you require recommendations on wine pairings or have dietary restrictions, they go above and beyond to accommodate your requests with grace and professionalism.

Cuisine: The cuisine at Da Giovanni is simply delicious. Traditional Italian dishes, expertly crafted by the talented chefs. From the delicate antipasti to the indulgent pasta dishes and mouthwatering desserts, every bite is a simply a joy. Standout dishes include the Pasta alla carbonara and a tiramisu for dessert, must try!

Value: Dining at Da Giovanni is not pricy at all, especially judging by its tastiness, it's definitely worth every penny. The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of the ingredients justifies the price tag. Moreover, the attention to detail and personalized service ensure that you feel like a cherished guest rather than just another customer. It's also important to note that Da Giovanni has 20% discount for students which also a huge plus to me.

Overall Experience: In conclusion, Da Giovanni is a culinary gem that surpasses all expectations. Whether you're a connoisseur of Italian cuisine or simply seeking a pleasant dining experience, this establishment delivers on every front. From the ambiance to the service and, most importantly, the exquisite cuisine, every aspect of Da Giovanni reflects a commitment to excellence that leaves a lasting...

We ate at this restaurant for one of our nights in Antwerp and I would like to say that the hygiene of this establishment was extremely shocking. I work in the food industry and was very disappointed.

For the first part I was excited to be there and enjoying the atmosphere (which is very nice), we chose our dishes and started paying attention on the place. Note that we were seated beside the pizza oven and finishing/pizza plating station.

The person that was finalizing the dishes was wearing gloves and touched EVERYTHING (seasonings, vegetables, carpaccio, cured meets, sea food pizzas etc…) without changing the gloves a single time. At some point an order ticket fell on the ground and this person picked up with the same gloves. No, she did not change it after.

We still ate our food, it came from somewhere else and we had already started eating when we noticed all of this incidents. Our dish was very flavorful and I really hope that the kitchen wasn’t this bad. After realizing that the gloves were not being changed, I couldn’t stop paying attention anymore.

When we ordered our bill, the glove person was the one who brought our ticket… and yes, she brought our invoice and the CREDIC CARD MACHINE wearing the exact SAME GLOVES FROM THE BEGINNING!! She grabbed candy from the jar wearing the exact same gloves as well.

If you have a food allergy, please do not eat here! The pizzas were all being cut with the same pizza cutter (by the same glove person) no matter if it was seafood or vegetarian!

There was no handwashing sink near the station and no trash can, she had a rug to clean the work area… it was disgusting, the only thing that rug didn’t touch (during my time there) was the floor.

I do not recommend this place. I’m very disappointed since it was a very popular spot and the food did...

Do not go if it's crowded! They have serious organization issues, leading to incorrect or forgotten orders. In my case, both happened. My daughter ordered a prosciutto pizza, but they delivered the wrong one. We only noticed the mistake after she had already started eating, so we didn’t complain. They brought my husband’s order and my daughter’s, but mine never arrived. I waited 10 minutes and asked the waitress, who checked with someone else and then left. Another 10 minutes passed—still nothing. Then 15 more minutes. By the time my family had finished eating (photos attached), my pasta still hadn’t arrived. I complained again, and only then did they finally bring my food. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, I told her no—I was considering leaving because I had lost my appetite, and my family had already finished dinner. She didn’t seem to care, just said "okay" and started walking away. I asked my husband what to do, and he suggested we stay since I hadn’t eaten in a long time and my blood pressure is low. So, we stayed. When the manager came with the bill, I complained and explained everything that had happened, mentioning that no one had even apologized. He already knew—the waitress had spoken to him multiple times, expecting him to take action, so he was aware of the situation. After my complaint, he offered a 20% discount as an apology. I’ve been here before, and when it’s busy, it’s always chaotic—long waits, lukewarm or cold food. But this time was worse. When it's less crowded, the experience is fine, and the food is good. However, when the restaurant is busy, the service is poor, disorganized, and honestly, in this situation, going to Da Giovanni is just not worth it.

The last time I visited this restaurant was around 8 years ago. I didn't exactly remember my experience so we decided to grab a pizza there. We come across this place quite often whenever we are in that area. As many people before me already mentioned, the staff always tries to get as many people as possible to enter the restaurant. Unfortunately, it is the case even when it's completely full. I can imagine this may affect one's experience greatly. The restaurant was, however, quite empty when we decided to visit it, so the service was prompt which was very nice. We decided to order a pizza Funghi and Quattro Formaggi, as well as Calzone. The portions were huge but the pizzas were, unfortunately, extremely greasy... I understand that it's typical for Italians to sprinkle their pizzas with some olive oil after baking them but that was definitely way too much. Because of that, the pizzas felt greasy and heavy and so I would not eat a pizza there again. Moreover, the staff was quite friendly but the general atmosphere in the restaurant felt stressful. It was impossible to relax and enjoy your meal properly as everything around just felt rushed. In general, I think this place focuses more on getting as many customers as possible rather than on the quality of food and service they provide.

The Pizza Scampi was really good and with 18€ also in a acceptable price range. Also the free olives and the bread are a nice extra. The location, right in the center is of course not to beat. One thing that really bothered me was that the beer I ordered was half full of foam. When I waited 3 minutes and the foam was gone, I only had half a full glass. I spoke to the waiter and told him that I had not yet taken a sip (see my picture). But he saw no problem in it and only briefly explained that this is because the beer is not draft and comes out of the bottle and thus everything would be correct. Sorry.. but then I don't have to order a LARGE beer for around 5€ if I get 330ml from the bottle. What put the whole thing into positive perspective for me was the fact that as a student you get a 20% discount. That's a great thing and the whole thing re-enhanced for me.
