Sir Anthony Van Dijck — Restaurant in Antwerp

The entrance to the restaurant is through a little alley. We were greeted by positive Paul who showed us to the beautiful dining room. He is detailed in answering my queries.

It was a full house Saturday evening. Yokel attended to our table service. Professional and well-versed with her F&B knowledge. She apologised for the wait between courses as it was a busy night. It’s also an opportunity for me to look around the beautiful rooms. We ordered the set menu which was substantial for me and my boyfriend. The meals were delicious especially enjoyed the boeuf bourguignon and Comte croquette.

Perfect venue for a romantic evening or group gathering. The book by Sir Anthony Van Dijck is available in the restaurant but there is no English version. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Antwerp. Definitely be back on...

Beautiful location with upscale atmosphere. The food was delicious and our hostess was fantastic. However, the server was terrible. The plates were not cleared between courses at all, the water was not refilled. The young man knew nothing about wines or the food on the menu. It was impossible to flag him to get anything at all because he was nowhere to be found. The other tables had the servers checking in on their patrons and clearing the plates. After main course, I think it was an hour before he showed up at all while we had dirty dishes piled on the table. I think the experience would have been top notch, if it wasn't for this one lazy...

The moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were immediately transported. The décor is incredibly elegant yet there’s a certain rustic charm. So modern and chic yet so historical.

The food was great; the dover sole, in particular, took over my tastebuds in the best possible way. It was subtle but not at all underwhelming, flavorful but not overpowering.

It did take a little while to get our main course after the appetizer. Granted, the restaurant was busy, so I understand. It’s also a little pricey but for the amazing ambiance and the great quality of the food, it’s worth your while.
