Smudged — Restaurant in Antwerp

Def 10/10. What a night and experience. So first off, the interior: done in a very loungy, metropolitan style with fun details like the tiled kitchen, special care for the toilets (making them a fun place in their own right) and the amazing sound system. I like the booths too. Then: the food and drinks. All exquisite and balanced price-wise. A huge selection of wines (bottled and by the glass). The cocktails are all fun riffs on the classics without straying too far. The dishes are interesting, sometimes quirky but each delicious. We tried the “lamszadel” (for 2-3 ppl) which was divine (and recommended by our server). Then: the service. Chill, but very well organised. Never a moment without their attention if you needed it. Glasses were filled at the table with the bottle shown. Water always refilled, dishes arrived at a good pace but not too slow (or too fast). Finally the atmosphere: we had a seat until 9 so were kindly moved to another table (which in itself was organised in a very pleasant way). We stayed for the rest of the night because the vibe was right. Music was played and picked up during the night, resulting in a fun kind of party- not a rarity here. I 100% recommend visiting and not planning anything...

Came out of curiosity, was blown away by the experience. First of all, watching people in the kitchen prepare and plate food is an entertainment of it’s own, a real show! Second, the food was absolutely delicious, I enjoyed every bite of starter & mains. Green gaspacho was refreshing and not boring, a perfect blend of veggies and herbs. Steak cooked on the open fire was perfectly charred and juicy. Spring chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. Cocktail prices were reasonable, even slightly cheaper than cocktail bars in Antwerp. Service friendly, attentive and quick. Would love to come back to try more veggie...

An absolute must do and a great addition to the Antwerp restaurant scene. What they did with the place is breathtaking, it looks stunning and throws you straight back to a 70’s movie scene. The crowd is easy going, the service is great and… the food… OH.MY.GOD. Delicious! Nice winelist at very fair prices. And then I’m not even talking about the dj corner, soundsystem and music choice.
