The Breakfast Club — Restaurant in Antwerp

We came from the Hotel National and i would not reccomend going there by any means. First of all it is so overpriced and the quality of the food is not that good, looks good for picture though. The girl who attended us struggled to explain how the breakfast offer worked and we got overcharged, she also struggled to communicate in basic english. The offer basicaly works like per person you get one hot drink, one orange juice, a croissant, very dry pancakes and a toast with outdated eggs. The vegan offer is so limited, and when you ask the waitress she doesn't seem to know the menu. We got overcharged since I asked for some vegan alternatives and she couldnt explain clearly that i could ask from the menu whatever I wanted till i got to 20 euros (A second girl explained that when we were finished and complained we got overcharged since the first girl lacks public service skills). We had to get several times to the counter since we asked for warm milk (brought us hot milk and latte was warm instead), and forgot one hot drink (it was only us the restaurant eas empty i cant imagine when it is full). The waiting time was out of this world. The waiters and waitresses didn‘t bother to check guests, their moral to work was non-existent, which reflected their attitude to guests. 💁🏻‍♀️ We had to get the menu on our own (didn’t even bother to check if we have menu and even after asking for the menu still no action from the waitress) and we has to go inside and complain that we waited more than 30 minutes Slow af 🐢 and mistook our drinks (we ordered 4 items 🤣) Took them another 15 minutes for bringing the correct drink 👏🏽 Could go run groceries in another city while waiting for the food actually 🤗 The food was below average 🤡

I saw some fun videos on Instagram about this place so decided to make a reservation for my best friend and I.

I reserved two days in advance, but once we got there, we got the worst table available right next to the loud kitchen. Luckily a couple just left so we were able to take their table.

The service was rather quick and friendly, but they did forget my cutlery so I had to ask for it myself, which is a bit unprofessional.

The food was underwhelming. I enjoyed my avocado toast but the portion was quite small for the price. My friend’s French toast was soaked in syrup, so it ended up being very mushy. Unfortunately she didn’t enjoy her meal.
