Very nice decoration and atmosphere. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the cappuccino and service. I suspect the beans used for the cappuccino to be a blend as there was little flavour (or pleasant after-taste). On top of that, the "cappuccino" lacked cohesion: the foam floated on top of milky espresso, instead of forming one drink. And I could be wrong, but it didn't feel like a 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk and 1/3 foam proportions that are "standard" for a cappuccino. Don't get me wrong: it wasn't awful in any way, but definitely subpar. In terms of service...both staff members were wearing AirPods and were not very welcoming. (They were having a nice time together though.) Again, it wasn't bad, but there wasn't much hospitality to speak of. We didn't order any food, so no comment on that. Price-wise, it was relatively cheap: 3,30 EUR for a cappuccino. Alternative milks (oat, soy, almond and coconut) were all free.

Lovely cafe with a lovely owner. This is really a hidden gem for a cosy meet-ups space with friends. The decor is really cool, there are big sofas in the front with a bright window and at the moment it is all decorated for Christmas, which is nice. I’ve been here a few times , for the occasional afternoon tea that is held once every few months together with an incredible cake maker. And also to meet with friends for coffee. Our last visit was with a parents group and we had 12 mums, most with babies or toddlers. The owner was very accommodating to make space for us and found a few toys for the kids. And the coffee was great 👍 We will definitely return!

Very nice and cozy place to sit down for coffe and fresh cakes :) Its full of cool books and the service was friendly, too! Update after second visit: I ordered 1 cheese toast with egg on top. After a while more and more guests came in and ordered. They were served within 10 minutes and my toast came after 45(!) minutes. Sorry but this is not acceptable and very frustrating. the service person apologized, okay, but to compensate you could have at least offered to give one coffe on house. Disappointing

A likeable curious, somewhat quirky, sort of place. Bacon and eggs on toast was decent. Lyons Irish (black) tea is available and this, unfortunately, was made not with proper boiled water but with water from the coffee machine which was luke warm. I asked for some hot water, which was given, but this made no difference to my "cuppa". As I paid to go I was asked if all was okay. I suggested (opbouwende critique!) that black tea should be made with boiling water. The waitress took her glass of herbal tea as proof it was hot enough and in doing so displayed a lack of knowledge on how to prepare a black tea compared to a herbal infusion.

Given the reviews of yesterday it seems the waitress is not having a good week - pity she took immediate offence. The word "serveerster", in this instance, was alas missing the "ster" element.

A 3 star review is given as it would be unfair to damn the whole place because...

I went to collect a package but when i went in and the guy was so friendly (unlike many places you have to collect parcels from who are grumpy) I ended up staying for a drink and cake. Good Dirty Chai (no extra charge for milk alternatives) was also tempted by a lovely looking lemon cake, Mary Berry would be proud, so moist and sharp. The decor is wonderful. I love the mix of colourful mismatch of chairs, sofas and tables, i think this gives it the cosy feeling as opposed to corporate uniformity. So i recommend in a city centre full of cafés and bars (many i have been to) it is worth taking a turn off the hoogstraat and look for the yellow...
