Tranquilo — Restaurant in Antwerp

Tasty food, but beware of the final bill. We tried the taster menu. Nachos , Quesadillas and tacos. The food was delicious and really the tacos were so tasty. For the price of 25/person I thought it was ok but the tacos were very small and we had to cut in half to share. I would have expected that we had one of each considering the small size of them and what we paid each. Regardless they were delicious.

For what you get and the setting, it is generally overpriced. We were surprised to receive a 9€ charge for 2 small carafes of tap water, which is what we asked for. The bottle was refilled, not new, but apparently it was “filtered”. I found that to be taking advantage as there was no mention of it and if I must pay for water, I will take sparkling bottled, not filtered tap water.

Cocktails are quite good but pricey.

With the pricey cocktails and expensive tap water our bill more than doubled. So not reasonably priced but...

Excellent Mexican food in the Belgium style for a reasonable price. Good atmosphere, great variety of tequilas and mixed drinks. Can pay in cash or by card. I would improve the waiting time only... If you are 2 or more persons I recommend to reserve first. Edit after 4 years from my first visit: Restaurant most likely changed owner and staff, food is still decent that's why I leave 4* from my first review. I am probably still coming again as nacho bowl is delicious. But here comes the but. This place lost its original charm. No Mezcal or Tequila recommended by barman (there is no barman anymore), no excitement or passion for texmex cuisine just staff doing what they are paid for, eventhough with decent performance. There is an outdoor terrace that stretches from the front of the restaurant towards a public playground.

Lovely atmosphere amongst the locals and in an interesting neighbourhood, where there are several other dining options.

The food was delicious and the menu offered a couple of vegetarian options. Best Spicy Cauliflower tacos I’ve had!

As we noticed across all the restaurants we’ve visited in Belgium, the customer service is not optimal. The servers are nice, but they come to the table once and never return to ask if you want another drink, etc. Due to that, I...
