We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Despite having a reservation, we were completely ignored when we arrived. The overall service was rude, inattentive, and unprofessional – with the exception of one waiter who was polite and helpful.
We ordered the house rosé wine, which was undrinkable – it had a strong metallic, iron-like taste. We are very familiar with wine, and this one was simply not acceptable. We sent it back and ordered other drinks instead.
The food took a long time to arrive. When the bill came, the three glasses of wine – which we hadn’t drunk – were still included, as well as an extra charge for pita bread we never ordered.
To make matters worse, the manager entered a higher amount on the card terminal, took the receipt, and didn’t return. When we finally got the bill back, we saw that we had been deliberately overcharged. Shockingly, it wasn’t the manager who corrected the mistake and refunded the difference – it was the friendly waiter who had helped us earlier. We never received an apology.
The food itself was good. Overall, this was not a good experience. Unprofessional, dishonest, and too expensive. We won’t be coming back....
Read moreFirst time I went the food (the shared dishes) was absolutely amazing. The pita bread is the best I've ever had and the sweet potato fries are to die for. In general it's not very cheap, but good quality overall. Also very nice atmosphere. Second time I went, in addition to some shared dishes as a starter, I tried the pita sabich. It was a bit disappointing, especially considering the price. Not much eggplant flavor. The baba ganoush was also very disappointing. First time it was really good, had the roasted eggplant taste but second time all we could taste was tahini. We even asked if it was definitely baba ganoush cause it taste nothing like it.
My main issue is, however, that when it's busy the service is not fast enough to allow you to have everything within 2 hours, if you want a dessert as well. First time we had the first service and barely managed to finish when they sent us out at 20.15. The second time we came in at 20.15 because we wanted a more relaxed experience but then the kitchen already closes at 21. It's a bit of a shame that everything needs to go so fast. I wouldn't come here again for dinner because of this, but will choose for lunch or...
Read moreMy recent experience at Humm in Antwerp was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was truly excellent, bursting with fresh and vibrant flavors. I particularly appreciated the thoughtfully curated menu; its concise nature clearly indicates a commitment to using fresh, seasonal ingredients that are turned over frequently. We opted for the "Humm experience" (€35 per person), which included a generous selection of 3 mezze, 2 salads, and ample pita bread on the side. Every single dish was delicious and well-prepared. It was also a great bonus that the staff were comfortable speaking English, making our dining experience seamless.
Despite it being a busy Saturday night, the service was relatively prompt and efficient. What truly stood out, however, was the attentiveness of the staff. Our waiter proactively offered us a different table when the noise level increased due to a nearby large group, which we greatly appreciated. This thoughtful gesture truly enhanced our comfort and enjoyment of the evening.
Overall, Humm provided a fantastic dining experience. The combination of delicious, fresh food, efficient service, and thoughtful hospitality makes it a place I would...
