Woody's Food Atelier — Restaurant in Antwerp

I've been frequenting this deli for over a year and I must say it is one of the top places in the whole area. Not only are the sandwiches varied, creative, fresh and generously prepared, there's so much more to find here; ranging from cookies to bread toppings to soup, nice juices and drinks like Fritz Kola in just about every flavor. The owners are friendly and always up for some banter if you're into that. Other than that, they radiate professionalism and keep a tight and clean shop. The place is spotless. I was passing through the area and was looking for somewhere to grab some lunch. Pleased I ended up finding this place really tasty baguettes at reasonable prices all of the produce looks good quality and everything is made fresh to order. Broodje "ham bearnaise" met als info: "Hammetje, gemengde sla, worteltjes, ei & Bearnaisesaus" bleek een gewone plak hesp (met vetrandje nog aan) te zijn. Als je iets adverteert als "hammetje" verwacht ik ook stukken varkensvlees afkomstig van een hammetje. Verder is ie ongelooflijk duur. Prijzen zijn vatbaar voor discussie uiteraard. Kipsalade kan duurder zijn omdat het kip is die vrij rondloopt in je tuin en kwaliteitsvoer krijgt. Maar komkommersalade €20.50 (en er stond niet "bio" bij ofzo), €31.90 voor boerenringworst of salami met look, €49.90 voor gerookt rundsfilet. Dat is filet d'anvers... Ossegerookt... aan €5 voor 100gr waar je uiteindelijk zoveel boterhammen niet mee belegd... Zelfs de garnaalsalade (€38.50) was goedkoper terwijl garnalen tegenwoordig wel een duurder product zijn. 2 sterren omdat ik uiteindelijk met het smosje wel ok gegeten had.
