After seeing the reaction on my rating, I do feel the need to comment a little more and tell the world why I gave this bar a one star review.

After already been barked at at a previous visit for no reason, we decided to give the bar the benefit of the doubt and re-visit. After having a drink or two, we decided to leave and saw that my jacket was no longer hanging at the stool next to me. After looking through the bar and not finding it, my boyfriend decided to go and ask at the bar if it had not been found. The answer he immediately recieved was 'go f. yourself'. This is not the way to treat customers, and when he said that, the staff said we were being rude and 'threatened' with calling the cops on us, which they did.

We were not removed from the bar as said in the comments, but left ourselves to wait outside for the police to arrive. We kindly explained to the police that a jacket was missing and that it was the very rude and unhelpful staff that called them.

If you can't handle a simple question from your customers, then you don't belong behind a bar. I live in Bruges and pay taxes here, and would like my tax money for police interventions to go to the situations that really need it, not for situations where staff is too lazy and too rude to help their customers if they report a problem.

We will definitely go and ‘f. ourselves' elsewhere in the future, as this bar...

If you’re a traveller seeking an authentic Belgian experience in Bruges, The Bauhaus Bar is the place to be. Nestled within a complex of UNESCO World Heritage-listed step-gable houses, this bar offers a unique blend of history and vibrant atmosphere.

The Bauhaus boasts an impressive selection of over 50 high-quality Belgian beers, ensuring there’s something to delight every palate. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend a brew that suits your taste.

The bar’s eclectic music and antique decor create a cozy and welcoming ambiance, making it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Regular events, such as pub quizzes and beer tastings, provide excellent opportunities to mingle with both locals and fellow travellers.

For those seeking a deeper understanding of Belgian brews, The Bauhaus offers a beer tasting experience where guides explain the differences between Trappist beers, Abbey beers, Tripels, and Ales.

Whether you’re staying in the associated hostel or just dropping by, The Bauhaus Bar encapsulates the spirit of Bruges, offering a memorable experience that combines culture, history, and...

I just want to make it clear that we weren't sitting in the reserved area. We do not expect any special treatment. We're just asking for some kind of respect as you would give to any other client. As I said in my original review, we've moved several times so you could seat more people, but it still wasn't enough. We always go out with six people or more, and we're always looking for a spot that's not too close to the beer tasting. So mostly, we sit across the reserved area for the beer tasting, because there isn't room anywhere else in the bar (because other people are sitting there, and that's okay). We never sit in the reserved area, because we know there will be a beer tasting. Your answer just proves your...

An ideal place to have a good Belgian beer or a very refreshing drink. The place is ideal, it has a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from the rest of the places and it is very cozy and quiet at the same time. They have a wide variety of drinks to drink for people who drink alcohol (I obviously recommend the Belgian cervexa) and for those who do not drink alcohol (I recommend a fruit juice that they have from the Looza brand, which has a lot of variety to choose from. fruit). The treatment has been ideal, the bartender very friendly and professional. It's nice to deal with people like that. In short, I recommend coming to this place for a drink.

The Bauhaus is a fantastic bar serving an excellent choice of beers and non alcoholic beverages. The manager, Steve and his team were very helpful and knowledgeable on places to visit and eat. The location is great for visiting the Christmas markets or visiting local attractions. You can watch sport, listen to music or catch up with new and old friends. It was great to see solo travellers arriving to check into the accommodation and again provided with outstanding customer service. I wish the Bauhaus was around in my youth, instead I’m enjoying it in my later years. Do visit if you are in Bruges.

It’s a cool bar where one can find a varied choice of beers and non-alcoholic beverages. The manager was very helpful and knowledgeable about places to visit and eat. He pulled out a map and spent 15 minutes with us explaining everything. They seemed to have a hostel upstairs, and it was cool to see travelers arriving to check in while we were enjoying our beers on a warm Belgian afternoon. It's a must-visit if you are in Bruges and want to enjoy off the touristy grid kinda environment.
