Franco Belge Restaurant — Restaurant in Bruges

It was a very uncomfortable evening from the start. We asked what the 6 wines by the glass were and their prices. The lady serving seemed annoyed that we wanted to know all of them and even more annoyed to have to tell us the prices. As the bottles of wine on the wine list had some very expensive wines, we didn't want any nasty surprises. The amuse buouche and first course were nicely presented and pleasant if not memorable. The sliced beef on the main course was unchewable and I couldnt eat it . When I remarked on this they apologised but no offer to put it right in any way. I realised our dessert had been incomplete, missing the chocolate element, when the only other table occupied received their dessert. Again they looked sheepish and sorry. Nothing done to compensate. What a fantastic restaurant in brugge, really like the food very much , each and every single dish is decorated like crazy , food taste are incrediable , they have lunch menu and dinner menu, but you need to prebook and go, they have a standard menu but taste will be excellent its worth for money to experiences the taste. You can experiences the passion towards food for the chef in your plate. Also the girl who serve food also really did her job well. She explain each dish before with incredient she serve and abiences is fantastic .Also they open to limited no of table fot the dinner because they want to treat the guest well. recived 4 dish for starters and 3 main course and 4 desert , what a awesone experiences , also for each dish they bring differnt cutlery . over all had an amazing eperiences in this restaurant. It's a shame that I have to write this review as the service and atmosphere were spot on, but the food was quite dissapointing. After having a starter and a main course I was still starving after and had to get a kebab. The dishes were beautifully presented, but the taste was certainly lacking. The fish was noticeably old, over seasoned and lacked acidity. The meat dish was ridiculously chewy, and the accompaniments lacked flavour and contrast. For the price and past reviews I expected much, much better. It is a shame, as the chefs are obviously talented, but like many restaurants of this caliber, it seems they have fallen into the hole of concerning to much over presentation and uniqueness, and have lost sight of good taste.
