OVERALL The overall impression is that the food itself is delicious, and in line with the slightly above average price, however an exception are the fries, as well as the service from the staff. So, when you order, ask for the rice instead of the fries. This is coming from a fries dude. WHAT WE ORDERED Mussels in white wine Lobster in mushrooms and cheese (Thermidor) Fries White wine (the house) Ice tea WHAT WAS WORTH IT The mussels and the white wine sauce were delicious, tasty and very filling. I would order this again, no questions asked. The price of the lobster, though was too overpriced compared to the portion you get.The meal itself is alright, however I expected either more meat or better cooking for the €48 price tag. It seems like the fair price for their current dish is closer to €35 so in my opinion they need to refine this dish more. The white wine was alright as well, and priced decently (€5 per glass). The ice tea was as expected. WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID/SKIP The fries. The fries were really a let down. They could have cooked them in a special oil or served them together with some seafood based dipping. It tasted like the fries you buy in frozen bags from the supermarket. At this price level I would be expecting hand cut fries as well as an interesting flavouring. Order the rice instead. THE SERVICE The service of this place is.. Nowhere to be found. The staff is slow, they don't smile and they have an air of arrogance which is quite unbefitting. If their service had been just OK, this place should get 4 stars, but the service was so bad that I decided to lower the rating to 3 stars. Advice to the staff: try to smile more, answer the questions your guests may have (such as recommendations) and be a bit faster in serving the bill. For example my partner asked which type of dish the staff would recommend and the answer was 'it depends on what you like'. That kind of attitude normally closes otherwise good restaurants so please fix this ASAP.

I just love to visit places which mostly have 5-star rating and a bunch of 1-star ones. This always means that a place is way better than a suspicious one with high rating only - this usually means that family members and friends of its owner left their reviews. There are usually 2 views on the World - the bumble bee one (everything around is flowers) and the fly one (everything around is dung). This love-hate perception of the World is funny and retarded at the same time. Where was I…of yeah - Lobster Pot was simply great. First of all, the food is really good. I had lobster quite many times, including in one rather famous restaurant in Nice. Guess what - Lobster Pot did it better. And the owner (I think) even let our daughter pick the lobsters before they faced their destiny. Even better - he gave them names. One lobster was Sebastian and his death was worth it. And it’s not just lobsters - everything else was also great. Including the service. I’m definitely coming back when I’m in this amazing town again. Which might be the end of this year already. And to the all haters out there - yeah, there is McDonalds around the corner as the owner suggested. McLobster for 10 EUR might be your best bet.

Last night in Bruges and we went for dinner at lobster pot as the hubby craves seafood. Ordered the lobster pot platter for 2 pax. Food is average, and service is LOUSY because: 1. We asked the waitress to help us take a pic, but she declined saying she is very busy, and she actually ask the patron next table to take pic for us instead?! (Honestly, this has never happened before) 2. The bowl meant for shells was filled to the brim and they did not bother to empty it. We have to ask for it to be emptied. 3. We were not given any aprons nor served any bread. Considering that there are 2 waitresses serving only 6-7 tables and we paid around €150 for the dinner, we can definitely get a better experience elsewhere. Not recommended. . I just saw the restaurant’s reply to other negative reviews and it’s all pretty defensive. So it’s up to you guys to judge for yourself haha

Unfriendly and arrogant attitude from the staff from the first moment. Not greeting the clients, no smile, no helpfulness, truly uppish and un-welcoming waiter. One can see that the thought is "tourists are coming and going; one leaves, another will come". No-one even greeted my husband when he first came in, a bit later. It's apparent that the staff never received any training regarding client service.

We didn't stay and won't come back. We have experienced such a good service, friendly and welcoming attitude in many places in Belgium. This is definitely not one of them. Advice to others: if you want good service, avoid this restaurant.

In response to the owner: What a pity you try to "cover up" and defend your arrogant, unfriendly, uppish staff. A terribly wrong public marketing, indeed. ;) Judging from the response, there is no doubt that the rude and unfriendly attitude is a standart practice in this place.

I guess, the following reviews about your place, which were published just 4 weeks ago, were also a pure coincidence and "fault of the clients":

"THE SERVICE The service of this place is.. THAT KIND OF ATTITUDE NORMALLY CLOSES OTHERWISE GOOD RESTAURANTS so please fix this ASAP."

"The owner is a very rude person. Don't eat here."

"Service not so polite."

"Pretty awful service for the price."

"I was being polite saying the service was awful. The waitresses were taking away food while I was still eating and speaking to each other about us rudely in Dutch assuming we did not understand Dutch. In terms of the food, it is really up to us to decide what and how much we eat. I don’t think there was anything left to discuss after seeing the attitude of your...

Als eerste gerecht kwamen onze oesters, 5 stuks a €25,00.

De chef kwam meteen aan tafel en vroeg wat het probleem was. Ik heb dit uitgelegd en hij wist me wel meteen te vertellen wat het probleem was. In mijn ogen was dit een diepvries-kreeft maar;

Een karig glas huiswijn a €7,00.
