Otomat — Restaurant in Bruges

I am writing this note so hopefully manager of the restaurant will understand my case. We came as 6 friends to the restaurant. My fiends ordered pizza as normal. But I am allergic to gluten and it is anaphylactic so no chance to eat at all as I already got allergy attack yesterday. I explained the situation and kindly asked them if they had anything gluten free or if I could get outside. They didn’t have any option and They rejected my request to get anything (maybe small portion chips). It is first time that I get this kind of response as normally they understand my case and sensitive as human being. I waited at the table looking to the food starving until my friends finishes their dishes to avoid unpleasantness. Hopefully next time staff will be more understandable.

Response: as I cannot respond the answer below, I am editing my first comment. I appreciate for the response. But I have clearly asked if there is any gluten free option but I have been told there is no option not offered to buy base. Therefore, I had to ask if I can buy something outside. My friends are also witness on this topic. As we couldn’t see anything on the menu and asked the waitress and got answer as “no option” and no proposal or help from her, I would suggest waitresses to be trained about the menu context -allergens- and maybe adding one note on the menu for the customers. It might help other customers in the future and nobody will be in this situation in the future....

VERY NICE EXPERIENCE AND WORTH IT. SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND BEAUTIFUL!!!

NEGATIVES: A. 5,20€ for water from the tap. Impermissible. This is a foul for me. B. The women's toilet too dirty. A little cleaning is in order. Too charged for tap water better find a solution for the toilets, at least at some price. Γ. The waitress who took over and greeted me from the start was wonderful, with a smile and appetite. But the other one, her colleague who we called at one point (with glasses) was a bit rude when I called her and thankfully we avoided her and she didn't serve us.

POSITIVE : ALL PERFECT!!! ONE OF THE BEST PIZZAS WE'VE EVER EATEN. The baking of the dough and the ingredients were all TOP. I have no words. We got three different pizzas, and all three were just DREAM. We also got a salad, and I can say that it was one of the best caesar I have ever had. A big thumbs up to the chefs, to the owner for the nice decor, and finally tables and chairs with spaces where people don't bother each other. THE PLACE in town for a delicious pizza 🍕. The only pizza that taste like you are in Italia 🇮🇹. I lived in Napels/ Italy for 15 years and I am so glad to have finally found a real equivalent to Napolitan pizza in Belgium with the finest organic ingredients. Also the staff here in Brugge is THE BEST, most friendly, accomodating, familial just like the Italian standards. The manager is totally going out of his way to provide the best experience each time we go, espacially to my son with disabilty. My son only wants to eat here when we come to Brugge. We eat Otomat every where we go, Ghent, Antwerp, but Brugge is our favourite, because of the always warm welcome and the pizzas are also best served here. We always take the menu deal 3 pizza’s with 2 side salads for 39€ and our favourite is Ritmo dela nacho and Bushwick with fennel salami 😍 fingerlicking delicious. We can highly recommend this place.
