Amazing food, great atmosphere and probably the best/ kindest owners we have come across.
So allow me start from the beginning. We chose the place because, frankly, it looked and sounded french, and we were searching for some tasty food. From the get go the staff was friendly, had a good knowledge of the menu and steered us in the right direction. I had the frog legs with garlic and my partner had some sort of parmesan croquets. The food came out quite quickly and looked amazing. These were probably the best frog legs I ever had.
Now for the fun part. After dinner we were supposed to get back to our hotel, near the airport, and, being past 9pm we asked our waiter to call us a taxi. Lo and behold, the only car available was 30 minutes out and the restaurant was about to close. The owner kindly allowed us to sit while we waited, and after about 40-50minutes of waiting they decided to give us a lift to our hotel. I can't begin to tell you how grateful we were for this random act of kindness these people showed to a couple...
Read moreAn incredibly atmospheric place. The owner of the establishment was very hospitable, communicated with visitors in a friendly manner. Seeing that I was photographing the interior, he offered me a small tour of the photogenic places, which was very kind of him. The only problem in our communication was that he did not know English, so we understood each other on the fly. The food was delicious, the waiter served me in English and did his job quickly and responsibly. I cannot comment on the pricing policy, because it was the only establishment I visited in Charleroi, but there were many locals in the establishment closer...
