I've been to Belgium a couple of times, but, always ended up in a very touristy restaurants. So,never really enjoyed Vlaamse dishes at all.

This time in Ghent, we were looking for some Belgian restaurant. We've ordered their Gazpacho (with cucumber), salad with Goat cheese and lobster. All dishes were good and tasted fresh. Really recommend for their Gazpacho because it tasted so refreshing if you wanna to start your feast with something light from taste to calories.

Also, it was first time ever we been into restaurant which serve fresh pressed lemon juice. This is not a joke as it is very good if you're looking for some kicking shot and pure juice. I could confirm that not from manufactured bottle drinks as we found seed in the lemon drinks itself.

Dishes are delectable. Service was great and dining atmosphere were great. I'd like to praise for their waiters customer service when we addressed an issue to him, their shift manager immediately check with the kitchen and revert to us with apologize.

I'm very please and will...

A very confusing booking from the get go. Group menu selections were incredibly misleading. The communication in planning such a big event is seems to have been overwhelming for the restaurant. Important details missed and not the best at communicating important factors like dietary requirements and allergies. Completely banned from having any drinks outside the menu that was selected for the group (for example not everyone wants to drink wine or beer). I asked for medium rare steak and it felt like it was butchered and set on fire, virtually tasteless. The wait time for food was incredibly long, the wait for soft drinks even longer (I waited almost 40 minutes for a Coke Zero). Service was confusing and muddled. Allergies were not well communicated (despite giving all the information in advance 4 times). Some members of our group didn’t receive what they ordered, which made the entire process of selecting in advance almost pointless. Otherwise a lovely building, just a shame about...

Unfortunately a very disappointing birthday lunch. Felt very ignored by our server and my wife’s steak was inedible. We were sitting at our table for 20 min before we were acknowledged. The wine was good. The oysters were good. I ordered the cod and it was good but nothing remarkable. My wife’s steak was so tough she couldn’t eat it. From the time we got our food to our plates being taken, no one came by. When he grabbed our plates I told him the steak was terrible. His response was of no shock and no care, And seemingly expected comment. He offered me a coffee on the house. We declined. When he brought the check, he told us he comp’d the bottled water. Bottled water! What a slap in the face. At the last moment they brought by a birthday dessert for my wife. It was vanilla ice cream, in the chocolate capital of the world. Nice gesture but fell flat! Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. The only positive was the...

Theres no denying that the architecture and interior of the restaurant is beautiful with a nostalgic feel. Lunch time is perfect for the sunlight to light up the dining space. However the food and service were disappointing. We ordered the lunch menu, the starters were fine and tasty. However, we then had to wait 40 minutes between starter and main. When the main course finally arrived, the potatoes were undercooked and hard. It was like cutting into an apple. The beef was tough and chewy with no flavour or sauce. The best part of the dish were the carrots and peas. Furthermore the staff were polite however very hard to flag down. Our drink orders were mixed up with another table. We came with high expectations due to recommendations however left feeling disappointed.

Het Pakhuis, Ghent – where flavor meets soul Sometimes, you walk into a place and instantly know: everything fits. Het Pakhuis in Ghent is that kind of place — a former industrial space with soaring ceilings, warm wooden tables, and a mood that blends effortless elegance with vibrant energy. We began with Gillardeau oysters, served on ice — their briny freshness intensified by the cold, almost velvet-like texture. A tribute to the sea — pure, saline, sensual. Then: perfectly seared scallops, kara savi — plated with care, tasted with reverence. The highlight? The sélection du boucher, cooked to perfection, accompanied by silky mousseline potatoes and crisp fries — a Belgian wink. All paired with a refined Austrian Pinot Noir Leth, adding depth without dominance. We ended with a coffee and chocolate selection to share — a warm, bittersweet final chord to an evening of taste, storytelling, and slowing down. A place for those who know that pleasure is an art. From aperitif to digestif: Het Pakhuis doesn’t just move your palate — it moves your soul.
