Theres no denying that the architecture and interior of the restaurant is beautiful with a nostalgic feel. Lunch time is perfect for the sunlight to light up the dining space. However the food and service were disappointing. We ordered the lunch menu, the starters were fine and tasty. However, we then had to wait 40 minutes between starter and main. When the main course finally arrived, the potatoes were undercooked and hard. It was like cutting into an apple. The beef was tough and chewy with no flavour or sauce. The best part of the dish were the carrots and peas. Furthermore the staff were polite however very hard to flag down. Our drink orders were mixed up with another table. We came with high expectations due to recommendations however left feeling disappointed.

Unique place in Ghent, great atmosphere, the building is exceptional. The staff was good and welcoming. Food was good and of quality and the only reason for the 3 stars is the price/quantity ratio. The butcher's piece for 27.5 euros was in fact 4 little slices of meat, 4/5 tiny pieces of pumpkin, some salad that was clearly lacking imagination. Only the small portion of mash potato made sense. When I hear butcher's piece I'm expecting a meat dish. 95euros for two mains, 6 oysters to share and 4 glasses of wine felt a bit much if you re still hungry, plus they don't serve tap water.

It is hidden in a secret corner of the city. Highly recommended. The building is historical with marbles floors, an statue, great antique furniture. Two floors, with a glass ceiling with the appearance of a green garden. The food is amazing, real flavors, variety, wonderful bread. They take time to serve the food, what means that is fresh, just made/cooked. Ideal for a date, business meeting. Prices are fair for the quality of the food. As a recommendation I would ask for a more extended variety in vegetarian food or sides other than salads or fried. I would definitely come back!

Wonderful place for luncheon or dining out on any day of the week. Remember to book your table as it is packed with guests and almost fully booked everyday, be it a weekday or a weekend. Delicious, mouth watering food, and rightful choice of menu with different courses. Outstanding table service and hospitality. Very stylish vintage interiors. Undoubtedly, a must visit restaurant if you are in Ghent. You will be addicted to its charm once you are here. Highly recommend!

Amazing place. I fell in love with its design from first sight. We stopped here just for drinks, but coffee was excellent, and the staff was friendly. For dinner, it's highly recommended to book a table a bit in forward.

We did not order food but just wanted to go in for a quick couple of drinks. Such a great atmosphere and design. It was quiet when we went, but I can tell thw place must be busy at nornal service hours and is a great place to be. Loved the inhouse beer cocktail! A lovely place and would definitely recommend. I'll definitely return again someday to try out the food also.
