Bistro Bottega — Restaurant in Hasselt

My friend was sick for two days after eating the vitello tonnato here! I initially gave this place 3/5 stars, but I felt this needed to be added to the review.

Original review:

Nice atmosphere, but poor service and poor price/quality ratio. We got drinks soon after sitting down, but then it was like we became invisible to the waiters. Had to wait a long time for the food, which was much too expensive for what it was. Looking at the other food coming out, it also seemed like it was pretty simple for the prices being charged (€25 for a chicken salad??).

Dopo quattro anni che vivo ad Hasselt scopro questa piccola perla nascosta nelle vie della città. Un posto bellissimo dove si può mangiare all'aperto o al coperto, un posto comunicante con un negozio di moda e quindi comodo quando si finisce di fare shopping per prendere un cocktail, mocktail o una bibita calda a seconda della stagione. Il servizio è impeccabile, il personale è estremamente gentile e la cucina è aperta alla vista del pubblico e quindi si può seguire il giovane Chef al lavoro. Il menù cambia anche a seconda del cibo a disposizione in una determinata stagione ed è tutto molto gustoso e fresco. Consiglio il toast con pulled pork e verdura oppure il sandwich con mozzarella, pomodoro, pesto e verdure. C'è la possibilità di prendere dei desserts sempre della casa e consiglio i tortini al rabarbaro e le taart con i frutti di bosco e la meringa. Un posto stupendo, ci tornerò molto spesso soprattutto...

Bistro Bottega was a very nice surprise. Cozy, modern, nicely decorated. With a possibility to enjoy the fresh air or sit inside. They have great staff and delicious pies. I definitely recommend it and I will be going...
