Chez Nina — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

We had one of the worst dining experiences in Brussels at this so-called "restaurant." We were a group of nine ladies celebrating a birthday, excited to try this place, but it turned into a complete disaster.

First, the food: absolutely tasteless. It was clear that no care was put into preparing the dishes. The pasta was overcooked to the point of being inedible—completely mushy, with barely any sauce, and zero seasoning. It felt like eating bland, sticky glue. The portions were massive, but when the quality is this bad, who cares? One specific type of pasta was especially terrible—three of us ordered it, and it was just impossible to eat.

When one of us politely asked if she could change her plate, the staff agreed without hesitation. Since we all had the same issue, we then asked to change all three plates, and again, they said "no problem." No one mentioned any extra charge. The shock came when we received the bill—they had included the full price of the uneaten pasta, charging us 30€ per plate for food that was literally inedible. When we questioned this, their response was appalling: "This is how we work. We've been making this pasta for three years, we don’t understand why you don’t like it, so if you change, you pay."

Instead of handling the situation professionally, they became aggressive and intimidating, especially towards one of our friends. The behavior was unacceptable—they were defensive, rude, and confrontational. It’s shocking that anyone running a restaurant could treat customers like this. The only decent person in the place was one kind lady working there, but honestly, I have no idea how she manages to work with those two.

This place is a total scam—bad food, bad service, and outrageous prices. Charging 30€ for inedible pasta and then intimidating customers when they complain? Unbelievable. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects...

Nous sommes venus manger ce soir dans ce sympathique bar, attirés par l’ardoise :« spaghetti bolognaise véganes ». Après avoir commandé, puis entamé nos plats, nous avons cru comprendre qu’il y aurait eu un malentendu sur la commande, on nous aurait servi des spaghettis bolognaise carnés. Nous n’avons peut-être pas été suffisamment clairs lors de la commande, car tout semblait indiquer que le plat végane était le seul à la carte. Sans que notre soirée soit complètement gâchée, nous partons un peu déçus. Indiquer sur l’ardoise que le bar sert des spaghettis véganes ET carnés permettrait d’éviter c’est situations qui peuvent être fort inconfortables. J’espère que ce sera fait, et que je pourrais revenir prendre une assiette de spaghetti (véganes) et une bonne bière, pour mettre une ou deux...
