A place who is awarded several times (whatever it means) doesn’t reflect the standard I would expect. On Friday evening the restaurant is fully booked. However the atmosphere is rather “cold”, enough stuff to take order and serve, somehow they lost their smile. The rice bowl was not fresh. Good was good without the mouth explosion I would love to experience. When I order a seafood plate and I get 2 shrimps 1 Jacque octopus ??? Definitely failed a standard Asian dish. Desert, Moelleux chocolaté it’s all about melting chocolate… if an Asian restaurant offers a french dessert; you better know how to do it. Far too small and definitely not a warm chocolate cake. On top they fave us the wrong bill from a different table. 20€ more. It can happen. It also wouldn’t be difficult to say sorry. Overall, I know much better Asian restaurants in Brussels. Vietnamese restaurant near the ulb which received quite some distinctions, which you can see on their facade, so had to try it with a few friends. The staff is super friendly right from the start, we had a reservation and came early without problems. The menu contains a variety of dishes which can feat everyone's taste. You can directly see that this is a traditional place with an open kitchen from which you can see the different meal coming to give you ideas on what to order. I stumbled upon the White Orchid, or L’Orchidée Blanche, while exploring the vibrant area between the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). The Cimetière d’Ixelles is known for its lively atmosphere, packed with restaurants and bars, but this particular Vietnamese gem truly stands out.
