Klein Amsterdam — Restaurant in Knokke-Heist

Mediocre food is easy to find and it seems fancy Knokke is no exception. However, the poor excuses for 'cooking' we were served at this place exceeded our worst expectations; the 'croque monsieur' consisted of two dry pieces of factory bread stuffed with factory cheese and ham of the kind you might get at run down highway gas stations. The shrimp croquettes were barely crispy on the outside and didnt smell all that fresh either. The accompanying fries were undercooked. If a restaurant in Belgium of all places cannot even pull off half decent fries, my guess is much of everything else is no good either. Surprised to see the other ratings but all I can conclude is; never again and my advice is to avoid this place until they start taking their customers and trade...

I had a disappointing experience at Klein Amsterdam. After waiting an unusually long time for our order, I politely asked the staff about the delay. Unfortunately, the response was dismissive and lacked any sense of customer care. When the food finally arrived, the mussels were bland and completely underwhelming. To make matters worse, the fries were not authentic at all—just generic freezer fries with no flavor or texture. If I could rate it 0, I would. I went there with my family a couple of nights ago for dinner, it was a Saturday night. We didn’t have a booking so we really appreciated finding a place that wasn’t Fully booked. We had ordered grilled tuna, steak and sole fish, the steak was the only thing that was decent, the grilled tuna wasn’t grilled and raw in the middle. The menu said grilled not seared.
