le Nulay — Restaurant in La Roche-en-Ardenne

I was there on a Sunday with 3 guys from my motorcycle club on our way back home to have lunch. Since La Roche is always busy on Sundays with tourists, it is difficult to find an empty place at a restaurant around lunchtime....so we ended up at Le Nulay to eat something. After looking at the menucart I took the Burger Luxe @ Euro 21.90 together with one of the guys, when you look at the price you think beforehand that should expect something.....now that was a bit disappointing afterwards, the bun on which the hamburger and chicken were served was downright old (maybe it was because it was Sunday....and that the bakeries were closed😂) and not really tasty, which immediately gives a wrong impression of the whole. Patat Frites was ok but not overwhelming...no, the impression of both myself and the other guy who ordered the same burger was not optimal in that...

Nous venons de dîner au Nulay. Nous y venons depuis de nombreuses années et nous avons toujours été satisfaits sauf aujourd'hui. Le personnel n'était pas sympathique. La table qu'ils avaient réservée se trouvait près de la fenêtre coulissante dans le passage des invités qui se cognaient constamment contre notre table. Il n'y avait aucune autre table disponible. Nous avions déjà fermé la fenêtre coulissante plusieurs fois après que les invités qui sont entrés l'ont laissée ouverte et nous nous sommes retrouvés dans le froid. J'ai demandé à un groupe d'invités s'ils voulaient bien fermer la fenêtre coulissante, et l'une des dames du groupe, qui avait visiblement bu, s'est plainte de manière très agressive alors que nous étions assis à table avec 2 enfants. Les enfants étaient clairement choqués et notre appétit avait immédiatement disparu. Elle a ensuite raconté son histoire à l'un des employés qui a visiblement trouvé cela drôle. Le groupe d'invités était assis à côté de nous à une table et voulait clairement entrer en conflit avec nous et nous mettait constamment au défi. Nous avons demandé l'addition et sommes partis même si notre repas n'était pas encore terminé.

We hebben net gegeten bij Nulay. Wij komen hier al vele jaren en zijn altijd tevreden geweest, behalve vandaag. Het personeel was niet vriendelijk. De tafel die ze hadden gereserveerd stond bij het schuifraam in de gang van gasten die voortdurend tegen onze tafel botsten. Er waren geen andere tafels beschikbaar. We hadden het schuifraam al meerdere keren gesloten nadat de gasten die binnenkwamen het open lieten staan ​​en we stonden in de kou. Ik vroeg een groep gasten of ze het schuifraam wilden sluiten, en een van de dames in de groep, die duidelijk had gedronken, klaagde heel agressief terwijl we met 2 kinderen aan tafel zaten. De kinderen waren duidelijk geschokt en onze eetlust was meteen verdwenen. Vervolgens vertelde ze haar verhaal aan een van de medewerkers, die het duidelijk grappig vond. De groep gasten zaten naast ons aan een tafel en wilde duidelijk ruzie zoeken met ons en daagde ons constant uit. We hebben de rekening gevraagd en zijn gewoon vertrokken terwijl onze maaltijd nog...

We entered the restaurant and got a place to sit. When we sat down we realised there was no Menu on our table. After waiting for 10 minutes, we still had no menu. After those 10 minutes we asked for the menu of course. The response was as followed: 'we are going to come'. Even after our 'server' said that we still waited for 5-10 minutes and didn't recieve a menu. While waiting we saw her prepare other tables (putting salt and pepper on other tables, not even ours!!). When we hadn't recieved the menu for around 15-20 whole minutes we just decided to walk out. Very bad service, if you can...
