Li Scafiote — Restaurant in Namur

This place was recommended by the hotel staff as a good, Belgian restaurant. it is only a short walk from the hotel. as we read the menu, outside, a local woman came out for a smoke. She told us how good it was. we asked, did she work there? 'No, but I eat here every week; the food is so good.' Their signature dish is mussels - which we all loved - so, though they did other things, we chose a mussel dish each. Were they good or were they good? The food was fabulous and plenty of it. I greatly enjoyed my meal from Li Scafiote and it was just a shame that we could not dine in, given Covid-19 restrictions.

The prices for the seafood may seem on the high side but the portions are really large and well-worth the price you pay, condering the quality of the food.

Definitely worth visiting if one is ever in Namur. Although it is slightly out of the city centre, the ambience is quiet and would be a very nice setting for a family...

We were here with a large group of 25 and occupied more than a third of the restaurant (do not do this without reservation).

Nevertheless the service was very good, organized well and fast enough.

I had the mussles menu which came with local baken cheese as a starter. The mussles where perfect cooked with the classic soup, but there were other choices available too. As desert I took a Crepe. I took a local beer speciality, only announced by card...
